Lesson 1 SituationThe situation made me feel… What I learnt from reflecting on the situation The project that I was working on had to be designed in a specific manner and the client did not give a clear description of it. I had it designed it according to my preferences and made an error in design. It was not what was required and this caused a conflict with my client. I had made wrong designs, which made everyone unhappy with my work. This situation mademe feel incompetent as I was unable to create a good design. I felt demotivated to perform my other work, as everyone was unhappy with the mistake I created. I feel like I did not deserve the opportunity to do this task and I failed as a team leader. It made me realise that I am not open to ideas, suggestions and I would rather not discuss situations with my team mates. I do what I feel is right, and this perception led me to perform a task ineffectively. When I reflected on my situation, I came to learn that it is important to ensure that there is clarity present in any type of situation. Clients should be asked about specific questions, especially related to design. This will help in ensuring that there are less mistakes made while preparing for projects and everyone will be proud of the work that is done. I also learnt that I should ask for opinions from others before starting a task and not simply do whatever I feel like.
