Dear (President of the Australian Association of Social Work),
I am writing this letter as working as a social worker. I have completed my qualification
in Bachelor of Social Work. I completed my 2 year Master of Social Work program and
currently I am working as a social worker with a licence and have 2.5 years and more than
experience. Social problem is a behaviour or condition that is having negative consequences
upon large number of population which is required to be recognised. The social issue for which I
am writing this letter is subjected to the social policy issue identified in a media article on Sat 6
Apr 2019 by Sarah Maddison in the guardian.com. The article States that, the Australian
democratic ideal does little to improve Indigenous lives (White Australia can't solve black
problems. White Australia is the problem Sarah Maddison. 2019). It is the major social cause for
which I am writing this letter and want AASW mount a media campaign in relation to this issue.
It is an important issue to the profession of social worker, as I believe that each and every
individual must have all the rights and can work respectfully and inclusively with cultural
differences and diversity. Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people’s rights are required to be
significantly promotion. With the help of media campaign this social work issue can we put in a
lime light among large number of individuals in country.
