This essay analyzes the target for closing the gap in life expectation by 2031 between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. It identifies the reasons behind target limitation and the economic strategy by the Government. The main limitation of the targets is related to ambiguity of the targets. The target claims to focus on improving the lifestyle of Indigenous Australians, as they do not relate to any measure of well-being. The Australian Government has proposed the Indigenous Economic Development Strategy to provide similar chances as other Australians to Indigenous Australians. The plan is stressed on five fields: education skill and economic development, jobs, development of business and entrepreneurship along with monetary security.
