Construct the Gravel Road
The scope of the assignment comprises of the design and construction of
a gravel access route from the main road which is located approximately 2.7
km from the site of light tower construction, sample of the same is shown in
figure 1. The gravel road construction aims to ease the transportation of
materials from this main road to the light tower construction site.
Development and Construction Approvals
The project construction company must initially before the start of the
assignment acquire approval to develop the gravel road. The approval will be
achieved by the use of IDAS Form 1 that requires extensive information
concerning the work and comprise of owners consent to develop the area
(Nguyen et al., 2018). As a result, we will attain the approval to start the
road construction work by utilizing IDAS Form 2 (Lang et al., 2019). In
construction projects, this submission necessitates particular information of
the tasks to be accomplished.

Environmental Approval
In constructing the gravel road, the following will be key aspects to take into
consideration while constructing the gravel road;
To give an impression of the systems of management that could be
used in managing the key risk areas of Environment, Socio-Political,
and Health and Safety (Du et al., 2019).
To assess critically the likelihood for independently dealing with these
the three risk areas, and in a cohesive manner. Propose which of the
methods believed would be most helpful to the success of the project,
and validate that choice with suitable academic facts.
To make deliberation on the given risks identified, propose an
appropriate way of assessing the risks in the development, which adds
value to the chosen management method. Validate the choice taken
with a suitable academic proof (Alkon and Wong, 2018).
To provide a discuss critically the challenges of risk management,
within the framework of the project.
To evaluate critically the how the business continuity relates with the
risk management in terms of the general strategic risk management.
To recommend to the company the best risk management method for
this project.

This part deals with the management systems the gravel road will take in
relating to the light tower project, which takes into consideration the
managing three risk areas; Environment, Health and Safety, and, Socio-
Political.
Management of how to safety and health risks
During the gravel road construction, it will be believed that no task or no work will be more
important than the health and safety of the workers. In the case where the job is likely to affect
the worker's safety and health, efforts should be done to ensure that a safe approach is designed
in performing the task (Situ and Tilt, 2018). Shortcut processes by the workers or the foremen
will not be tolerated. In case of unsafe condition to a worker which is likely to bring a threat to
his or her health and safety state, the employees are expected to correct the situation where
possible and report this to the management. Management is responsible for taking adequate
precautions that comply with the standards of building and construction. It should also ensure
that there are adequate safety and health of the workers (Pan et al., 2018). In the construction
gravel road, we will not allow any task to be performed if the task risks the health and safety of
the employees.
Supervisors play an important role in the maintenance of safe and healthy workplace
policies, practices, and procedures. It is the responsibility of the supervisors to identify and
assess the potential hazards, choose approaches that can be sued in controlling or eliminating the
hazards (Pan et al., 2018). They are also required to ensure that their employees get training on
safety and health practices in performing their work. The performance of safety and health
practices evaluations will be the work of the supervisors to undertake.

Safety and health committee will also take an active role in the safety and health
practices of the workers. At least one time in a year the safety and health committee is required
to develop a formal safety and health report that gives the goals and monthly progress of the
construction company in regards to the health and safety of the employees (Khosravi et al.,
2019). The set goals will later be communicated to all workers.
The management will take consistent action and respond to safety and health issues.
This will demonstrate the commitment of the management in coming up with solutions and ways
of mitigating the present health and safety issues (Barrett and Therivel, 2019). The
management will come up with the solution and encourage their works on better methods of
overcoming the issues. The supervisors are expected to review, examine and take the necessary
and suitable action on all reports on hazards reported to them by the employees (Topchiy and
Kochurina, 2018). The workers reporting the hazards will later be notified of the outcome.
The workers working in the development project will be given an opportunity to inspect
safety and health issues frequently, and this will help in identifying the hazard conditions and
inappropriate actions that can be used in solving the challenges and this will help them in
devising a good action. The workers are always encouraged to give suggestions on safety and
health practices to assist in improving the process, avert an accident or making improvement in
the safety and health practices (Khosravi et al., 2019). The suggested practices will be
implemented by the company undertaking the construction of the road development project.
Workers are also allowed to give their inputs related to recommendations on health and safety
procedures, products and training since it pertains their daily work operations. For instance, an
employee may be given a responsibility to examine the product or perform research to evaluate
the suggestions. Employee contributions can be provided through the system of suggestion,

reporting the hazard, or through conducting actions of safety and health committee initiates.
Employees can participate in the number of ways in assisting in the provision of safety and
health conditions (Kosajan et al., 2018). The ways that can be used include participating as a
trainer, problem solver or even an inspector. Employees take a key role in controlling,
identifying and reporting health and safety hazards that are expected to occur or that are in
existence in the working environment. The employee reports can be an important tool to trigger a
closer observation on the equipment used, operation and the process of carrying out the task
(Topchiy and Kochurina, 2018). The reports provided can give suggestions on how to eliminate a
given hazard.
Data Collection and Ethical considerations
The appropriate spatial data collection process will be relevant to the Geodesign project.
The data will enable the designers to make decisions on the precise locations where the proposed
changes will be implemented. The data collection will mainly impact gravel road construction.
Concerning the first quantitative approach that is the use of Geodesign method to improve the
golf courses, the ethical consideration will be informed consent (Fritz and Vandermause,
2018). We will collaborate will various stakeholders and professionals to collect the required
data. We will inquire an informed consent from these participants to guarantee their willingness
to be involved in this quantitative research. Acquiring an informed consent will entail advising
these participants about their privileges, the inspiration behind the research, the approaches to be
adopted as well as the likely advantages and dangers of the investigation (Sobočan et al.,
2019). Also, concerning the multiple regression analysis, we will strive to acquire informed
consent from the owner of the firm and the former manager of the company. After collecting the
data, we will analyze our inquiry to avoid linking the firm's private information to other outsiders
