Write a 2000 word report on one of the following topics: Lightweight roofing systems reducing energy heat transfer, 'Green garden' facade assemblies for residential flats, Modular construction methods, Structural retaining wall options in subfloor regions, Sound attenuating window systems for residential buildings. Research at least three product options available in the Australian or the worldwide marketplaces. List the advantages and disadvantages of each system. Include a discussion of the likely cost of each product including installation. The report must be divided into subsections and must be provided with a contents page at the beginning as well as page numbers. Referencing should conform with the Harvard system.

Reduction of Energy Heat Transfer using Light
Weight Roofing Systems
Introduction
The focus of people on the roof as a significant component in ensuring energy efficiency has
considerably gone down. Air conditioning is highly desired in most structures. Application of the
roofing system in achieving such a function will play a major role in ensuring efficiency in the
use of energy. 30% of the energy needed for cooling will be saved if the lightweight roofing
system will be embraced in the housing systems (Jane Powell, 2015). If one has to bear the
vision of reduction on the expenditures on energy, they will have to take up the responsibility of
being keen on the kind of roof they are to use in carrying out the construction activity. Different
structures have varying traits, the different traits also influence on the kind of roof to be used in
carrying out the construction. The architectural styles have also influenced the variation of the
roofing systems being experienced (Olgyay, 2015). The roofing products to be discussed
through the paper will draw their basis from energy efficiency.

Executive Summary
Metal Roofing
Metal roofs are made from either metal pieces or tiles (Rafael Luque, 2012). The durability
associated with the roofs has played a major role in pushing for the popularity associated with it.
The trend has also been seen with the selling of houses. Houses built with metal roofs were
easily sold compared to structures embracing the different systems of roofing. Among other
factors that have pushed for its rising value are its impermeability traits and the longevity
associated with it. Most metal roofs have been made from the alloys of zinc, copper and steel.
Contractors charge their clients approximately $10,400 to $ 15,000 excluding the discounts they
offer after an agreement. However, in comparison with the cost of installing an asphalt shingle
one, the metal roof cost is less expensive. The sweltering months see many people utilize such a
kind of roofs.
Advantages of Metal Roofing
One can easily choose a single metal roof from a wide variation of roofs. They range from the
standing seams, corrugated sheets and the shingles.
A good number of years is given as the warranty period extending to about twenty to fifty years.
The air condition of a housing system remains to be stable with the reduction of energy
consumption. The role is excellently played by the metal roofs. Such a transfer of heat is
excellently reduced by the cool roofs (Anicia Q. Hurtado, 2017).
Insulation role is done quite well by the metal roofs. The insulation is done in diverse methods.
Past statistics indicate the roofs offer insulation to approximately any R factor.
Replacement costs experienced in the roofing systems is primarily as a result of the removal of
the landfill costs. Lightweight roofs can be installed on an existing roof system. Costs incurred
om the replacements will be automatically eliminated.
