This literature review explores the role of social media as a learning technology for university students and identifies the problems in using social media for learning. The study adopts a quantitative and descriptive methodology, focusing on Bachelors and Master's degree students in the Social Sciences department of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The findings suggest that social media serves as a useful platform for interaction, communication, and collaboration in the learning process, enhancing critical thinking and argumentation skills. However, the research lacks internal validity due to sampling bias.
