a. “Obesity and Cancer campaign; Intelligent liver function tests” talks about the
new Cancer Research UK campaign that compares obesity to smoking as a risk
factor for cancer. This issue has come under criticism and Margaret McCartney
debates the topic with Professor Linda Bauld. The podcast talks about the health
of the liver and the hepato function tests related to diagnosing risk factors. It
discusses Liver Function blood tests that are particularly difficult to interpret and
early disease is often missed. It promotes a new initiative known as the Intelligent
liver function tests devised by a team from the University of Dundee and the easy
analysis factors involved with it which makes evaluating the liver function lucid
for the patients and doctors. It also gives an insight into a new mini-series,
reliable websites that one can trust and ways to judge the authenticity of the health
information found on the internet along with guidelines on navigating the internet.
