Investigation of a Cessna 340A Plane, N60E, Overrunning the Runway at 0815 Eastern Daylight Time_1

Overview Summary of the Issue
It was 0815 eastern daylight time when the news of a Cessna 340A airplane, N60E, overrunning
the runway was reported. It happened at the Orlando Executive Airport situated in Orlando,
Florida (USA).
As the reports from National Transportation Safety Board suggests, there was no injuries to the 4
people onboard including the pilot. Reports indicate a heavy damage to the plane. Apparently,
the pilot got disturbed with the response of plane after it had encountered a substantially large
drainage culvert at the time it was about to exit the paved runway.
Little Dreams Aviation is the company that has this plane registered.
Pilot said that the issues started to surface when the plane was half-way on the runaway. What he
felt was a sudden lag, a forward motion, in the takeoff roll and acceleration. The maximum speed
that was observed by the pilot, at that time, was 43 knots and the ASI handle had stopped to
increase; all it did was ‘fluttering’, as the pilot had described the situation and as it was reported
by NTSB.
As the pilot realized the issue he pulled over and tried to decelerate the plane. The plane did not
stop right away so pilot had to turn the plane to the right side of the runway which successfully
resulted in no collision with the physical structures at the end if the runway.
Naturally question was raised on the credibility of the pilot and the investigation showed that the
pilot had 1,078 hours of flying experience (Politano & Walton 2016).
Relevance the Accident/Incident
It was important to take WPR18LA179 into consideration as it may have resulted in a major
accident. It can be said that the pilot, with his presence of mind, was clever in changing the
course of plane to the right side of the runaway which had prevented major collision. Usually
there are cases of runway which are mostly related to Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer not being
