Abstract
Aim: The main purpose of designing this interface is to enhance the local farm shop sales.
Procedure: The assessment is completed in 4 different procedures. In the first assessment two
alternatives were designed individually by each team member and the small presentation was
prepared discussing both the alternatives. The second assessment is carried off in which the one
alternative is selected from the different alternatives designed and the interface is further designed
to meet the farm shop requirements. The third assessment is about the evaluation and correction
where the mistakes are identified by the other team members. In the assessment four and the
appropriate and correct interface is completely designed and a report is prepared explaining all the
screens, navigations and components used in the application interface.
Result: the interface of mobile application is ready for the local farm shop following all the usability
principles.
Recommendation: it is recommended for local farm shop to develop the interface designed as it is
secure to use and will increase the sales and growth of the shop.
Introduction
The report is about the local farm shop application that is an Australian based farm shop and
decided to grow their business online. They decided to develop a mobile application to increase their
sales and for the purpose they need us to design the prototype for user interface. The local farm
supplies different types of food products, wines and variety of gifts. The application has separate
screens for the entire product divided in three categories food, wines and gifts. The application will
also allow the user to make restaurant booking for small parties. Restaurant can accommodate
maximum of the 50 people. In the previous assessment the final prototype is designed for the
Australia based local farm shop. The designed application follows all the usability principles stated by
the Jacob Nielsen.
Reflection
a. User interface design
The reason for which the interface is designed for local farm shop is to increase the customer
experience and the usability. The interface is designed to ensure that the interaction among the user
and application is simple and flexible. The interface of local farm application is done to meets the
goals of the local farm shop (Johnson, 2013).
Justification
The designed interface is the best as it is flexible to use, easy, can be modified anytime that is easily
adaptable.
The design interface is the best suitable design for the local farm shop as it appropriately
clarifies the job of an interface. User can easily recognize the job of the designed interface.

The interface designed enables the proper interaction among the human and the shop and
bring the shop and customer together and build strong relationship among them.
The interface design is appealing and attractive for the users
The control of application is given to user by surfacing the status of the system.
Each screen designed performs only one primary activity. This makes the application easy to
use and flexible (Silva, & Winckler, 2017).
b. User requirements
The interface designing will be taken in account as per the requirements of the shop. While deigning
the user interface entire requirements of the shop are analysed and identified deeply and the final
design is completed. The application interface designed meets all the requirement and usability
principles.
Justification
The interface keeps user updated by making the special offer page and showing special
offers on the home page.
The designed interface matches the world perfectly as the symbols are appropriately used
for different purpose and easily understandable.
By using the logout button on each screen the users is given full freedom to exit the
application whenever they want to.
The consistency is maintained in the design by using same background for all the screens
and keeping the header and footer of each screen consistent.
The design interface is also secure to use and prevent the application from wrong
authentication details by given error (Zimmer, Graffagnino, & Ording, 2012).
The application interface consists of the relevant information and no inappropriate data or
content is there in the application interface (Nielsen, 2013).
c. Factors influenced
There are many factor that influence the interface design that are;
User requirement: the application is designed as per the farm shop requirements. The application
interface designed meets all the requirement and usability principles.
Restrictions: different restrictions are taken in account like the user could not enjoy the services of
farm shop until he registers or gets login to the application
Design principle all the Nielsen stated heuristic principles are followed while designing the interface
for the local farm shop.
Business requirement: The main motive of the application design is to increase the farm shop
growth and meet all the business requirements.
Competitors: the local farm shop has many competitors in the Australia providing similar services
and products. So to grow against them is a big challenge. The designed interface will help the farm
shop to reach more and more localities of the Australia and gradually increasing the growth and
service location of the farm shop (Nielsen, 2016).
d. Similar interface

The interface is designed taking help from the other shop application titled Warrah farm shop. The
shop has completed many years in the Sydney and supplies the certified organic products to its
customer. The farm shop interface helped me a lot while designing the local farm sop interface and
achieving all the goals and principles. The warrah farm shop interface has the consistency among
the entire screen similar to the interface designed for the local farm shop but misses the aesthetic
principles as a lot of content is given on the screen. Also the appropriate components like social
symbols are not used for matching the system with the real world compare to the local farm
application that uses the symbols wherever required (Warrah, 2017).
Conclusion
The reflection report is prepared above and all the important discussions are made. The local farm
application purpose is clear through this report and designing procedure is briefly explained. Further
the different interface aspects are discussed and justification is given as a proof for supporting the
aspects. From the above report it is clear that designed interface is the best for local farm to
implement and follows all the heuristic principles. Also the interface designed meets the user and
business requirements of the local farm shop.
