view of large number of scholars, it is evident that Air New Zealand has hired limited number
of work force within supply chain process. As a result, the service users have to face numerous
difficulties in receiving the products properly (Amin & Zhang, 2012). In addition, human
resource managers have intended to appoint most of the male employees within the service
process of logistics due to uncertain work hour. This specific factor has been considered beyond
the business ethics. In order to run an organizational properly the business experts of Air New
Zealand would have to follow some of the most important acts and legislations.
The acts such as anti-discrimination act, gender equality act are one of the most
significant legislations that Air New Zealand has to follow while providing services. After
appointing most of the male employees within the business organization, the business experts
have faced major issues in maintaining their reputation. In addition, Air New Zealand is facing
immense communication problem within the supply chain process (Beske, 2012). Air New
Zealand in order to maintain their business in global market has to be dependent on the supply
chain agencies. The managers of this very specific organization have to face innumerable
communication barriers while interacting with them. As a result, the employees have to face
difficulties in interacting with the participants properly. However, after facing this kind of
communication barriers the supply chain managers fail to exchange necessary information with
each other properly. Automatically they have to face challenges in providing necessary update to
the customers about the delivery process of supply chain (Cai et al., 2013). Numerous
researchers have provided their point of view for conducting an in-depth research about this
specific research issue.

2013). While discussing the various impacts it has been observed that supply chain management
enables to deliver the product to proper destination. At the same time, an effective supply chain
process enables the business experts to maintain inbound as well as outbound logistics properly.
At the same time, it is also undeniable that managers sometimes fail to maintain effective supply
chain process due to lack of sufficient workforce strength (Liu, Qu & Zhong, 2012). Due to the
communication gap, the customers fail to get proper services within time. Ultimately, it hampers
the overall productivity as well as image of business organization.
3. Research methodology:
Research methodology is the integration of tools and techniques required for data
collection and data analysis. Different scholars over time have defined research methodology in
their own terms that conveys the same message. For example, Baskerville and Wood-Harper
(2016) opined that research methodology is a structure, which is comprised of a particular set of
standard assumption in the process of conducting the research. Sekaram and Bougie (2016) on
the other hand aligned research methodology with the research objective and mentioned that it
should be relevant and appropriate to the research objective. This can be considered as a
systematic process that directs the course of the research. Methodology section will discusses
about the philosophy of research, approach of research, data collection, data analysis and
sampling techniques. It further identifies the ethical consideration that the researcher should
follow during the work.

out the research procedure (Nativi & Lee, 2012). The work of previous scholars can identify four
types of research philosophies that are realism, interpretivism, positivism and post positivism.
The reality from the realism point of view is independent from human mind. It requires
scientific approaches for developing the knowledge. There are two primary types of realism that
can be identified. They are critical and direct realism. The former is of opinion that personal
senses cannot effectively portray the real world as images and senses can be deceptive. Direct
realism on contrary uses the human senses for portraying the world. Interpretivism incorporates
the concern of human-being in the research philosophy and interprets the element of the study.
This defines the social construction as the basis of assessing the reality that is consisted of shared
meaning, instruments and language (Colicchia & Strozzi, 2012). Researcher utilizes this in case
of amalgamation of different approaches of research. Next philosophy defined by the scholars is
the Positivism. The scholars have explained is the rejection of metaphysics, where objective of
the study is to identify and describe the phenomenon in experience. It helps in revealing the
hidden truth underlying the study by observing various factors. The last type of research
philosophy is the post positivism (Janvier-James, 2012). It rejects all the doctrine identified by
the positivism. It does not differentiate between everyday life thinking and scientific way of
thinking. This particular research identifies the need of positivism as the research philosophy.

(Source: Golicic & Davis, 2012)
Justification
Positivism is required in this study as the study demands the researcher to uncover the
hidden truth from various facts that have been made available for the analysis. Positivism further
increases the observational scope of the study. Hence, the descriptive study can be used for
analyzing the research topic.
Research Approach
The purpose of research approach is to validate the hypothesis of the research. There can
be two types of approaches that are inductive and deductive approach. Both of the approaches
serve different purposes (Huo, 2012). Inductive approach helps the researcher in formulating
new theories and generalization, whereas, deductive approach validates the existing theories.
Hence, it can be said that the inductive approach makes new theory and deductive approach

will be used to analyze the perspective of the employees by linking with the objectives that has
been formulated in the study (Wagner & Neshat, 2012). The qualitative analysis will consist of
surveys and questionnaires, which will be asked to the higher-level officials in the organization.
The qualitative analysis will identify the patterns in the answers provided by the managers to
provide a differnt dimension to the study. The quantitative analysis will consist of graphs, charts
and calculation of the mean, median and mode. This will help to provide a better understanding
of the data that has been collected. The mean, median and mode will be used to identify the
distribution of the data and majority perspective of the employees in the organization
(Leuschner, Rogers & Charvet, 2013). This will enable to validate the existing theories, which
are discussed in the literature review of the study.
Sampling
Sampling is a method, which is used for selecting the sample population for the primary
analysis of the data. The overall population is relatively large and cannot be used for the analysis
of the research (Diabat, Govindan & Panicker, 2012). When the data sample is huge, the analysis
process will become cumbersome and thus, sampling methods are used to select the sample
population from the overall population. This sample population will be used to represent the
overall population there are two types of sampling methods, which are used in the academic and
business research, one is the probabilistic sampling and the other is the non-probabilistic
sampling. The probabilistic sampling will use random sampling to select the population sample
for the study. This ensures that the overall population will have equal chance of being selected in
to the population sample for the study. Probabilistic sampling can be further divided in to simple
random sampling, stratified sampling, systematic sampling and cluster sampling. Simple random
sampling is a method, which will select random samples from the overall population (Waller &

Fawcett, 2013). In stratified sampling method, the populations is divide in to non overlapping
groups and then the same method used in simple random sampling is used. In systematic
sampling, a particular interval is selected and the data is selected based on that interval. Suppose,
the interval value is k, the kth variable after every interval will be selected as the data for the
sample population.
The non-probabilistic sampling will use randomized sampling techniques from the
population of the data. Thus, the chances of in appropriate representation of the data increases
and this will affect the overall research findings. Thus, the accuracy of non-probabilistic is less
when compared to the probabilistic sampling method. However, the hidden population can be
included in a better way in non-probabilistic sampling. therefore, the appropriate method that
will be selected for the study will simple random sampling. in this current, it is essential to
maintain a high degree of reliability and validity in the data so simple random sampling is the
best choice (Wagner & Neshat, 2012). In this study, the number of respondents that have been
chosen for the study is 50, which includes the lower level employees of Air New Zealand in the
quantitative study and will consist of 5 respondents in the qualitative analysis of data that are the
higher level officials in the organization.
Reliability and Validity
The ability of the instruments to draw the same conclusion from the study can be
considered to be reliability of the study. According to Wagner and Neshat (2012), the high
degree of reliability will ensure that there will be positive outcome in the study. When all the
requirement of the methods that have been used in the study has been fulfilled then it can be
