product against military operational ration pack. Report involves concept of Logistic and
different approaches to identify inventory strategies of international food retailer as well as
British armed forces.
McDonald’s
McDonald’s is operating their function as one of the largest fast food retailer organisation.
This company was founded in the year 1940 and headquartered in
Chicago, Illinois, U.S. It has been identified the organisation serves in more than 38, 695
locations worldwide and have more than 210, 0000 employees in its different franchise. It is
world largest restaurant chain by revenue and serves 69 million customers on daily basis in more
than 100 countries (Svanberg, 2020). It has been identified that company offer wide range of
products such as chicken product, hamburgers, French fries, breakfast items, dessert, milkshake
and many more items to customers in order to serve needs and demands of customers in an
effective manner. In addition to this, corporation also offer fresh salads, smoothes, fruits and
more.
British Armed Forces
This is also define as her majesty’s armed forces and is mainly responsible for military
services in the provinces of United Kingdom. In this the Army Catering Crop a British army unit
is mainly responsible for feeding all Army units and was founded in the year 1941. The main
role of Army catering crop is to engage in the process of catering for troops. It has been
identified that around old time’s transportation mode mainly comprises of donkeys, horses in
order to provide ration equipments man power and other resources to this unit.
It has been identified that nowadays SCM & log is being duly undertaken by corporate
organisation which is continuously reviewed in order to enhance efficiency, quality and speed of
servicing. The main reason behind this is to ensure more competitive advantage and long-term
sustainable growth. Present assignment duly involves comparison among two organisations in
which the International commercial retail company, McDonald’s and other one British armed
force with the assistance of SCM & log system. In this assignment formative process of both the

companies through which they deliver the same commodity to customers is being included in
terms with efficiency and services.
What is logistics
Logistic is defined as a process that involves overall management of the manner in which
resources get acquired, stored and transported to the final destination. It has been identified that
in this process management of evaluating perspective distributors and suppliers to evaluate the
effectiveness and accessibility is being undertaken (Haas, 2020). Furthermore it has been
underlined that logistic was initially a military base term which is defined in context to the
manner in which military personnel significantly obtained, stored and move equipment and
supplies. However this term is now being widely used especially in business sector in which
organisation actively manage resources and handle and move them with a define supply chain. In
addition to this it has been underlined that this term is specifically defined as a process of
effectively coordinating as well as moving resources, inventory, people, material and equipments
from one location to desired destination. There are different types of logistic components that
involves warehousing in order fulfil demand, planning, inventory management, outbound
transportation, inbound t transportation and material handling. Logistic play most important role
in both military as well as in modern business sector as it provides coordinating process to
deliver resources and other materials in an effective manner. It has been identified that logistic
play one of the most important element to SCM. Furthermore it has been identified that during
the time period of industrial revolution in 19th century this term become very common between
Europe and America and are being widely used in global market and logistic and supply chain.
