1LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT BETWEEN TWO COUNTRIES Executive Summary:The overview of the report consists of two logistics issues international logistics companiesface while importing commodities especially bulky commodities from overseas suppliers.The background of the logistics issue lays in the coal port of Abbot in Australia, which isunder Adani Australia, the Australian subsidiary of Indian logistics and mining conglomerate,Adani Group based in Ahmadabad, Gujarat, India. The company is importing locomotivesand wagons from Germany. The paper recognises the key issues Adani would face whileimporting the commodities from Germany to Abbot namely, customs issues andoverwhelming impact bilateral trade agreements between countries have on logisticscompanies. The paper focuses on these issues and their impact on the importers like increasein import expenditures of these importing companies. The findings show that internationaltrade is ruled and dominated by the political agreements between countries and complexcustoms laws and procedures. The discussion ends with recommendations, which Adani canconsider to deal with these customs and political issues.
