Executive Summary
The overall learnings of the study have aimed to provide the issues of the logistics which are
prevalent in NSW. The concerns have been mainly considered with the rail access regime which
are considered with the laws to improve the network infrastructure in NSW. At present the NSW
region is depicted with several problems relating to the management of the workforce
requirements especially associated to logistical requirement. The course of the learnings has
depicted about the increasing nature of issues especially in terms of the transport network
congestion in the Port Botany (PB). Some of the main findings of the study has stated that the A
common NSW problem is also seen with the interference caused with the rail operators. It needs
to be understood that the occurrence of the multiple refinement for access of the transport service
has increased the load on the present companies which are related to the trade of supply chain.
The understanding of the resolution of the emerging concerns needs to be identified in terms of
incorporation of the intermodal logistics hub especially in the region of southern highlands. In
general, the intermodal logistics center is seen to be inclusive of the various types of the
measures which are relevant with the addressing the problems of the current rail routes. It needs
to be also seen that the unique positioning in the Hume Highway located in the Western side of
the state has been considered with the significant nature of the opportunities pertaining to the
improvement measures. The role in terms of sustainability has been further depicted with the
NSW Government in bringing sustainability to the situation by funding of more than $250
million for the facilitation of the PPP initiatives.

Introduction
The discourse of the study has aimed to depict the present problems of the logistics
which are prevalent in NSW. The exiting issues have been mainly considered with the rail access
regime which are considered with the laws to improve the same. At present the NSW region is
depicted with several problems relating to the management of the workforce requirements
especially associated to logistical requirement. The course of the learnings has depicted about the
increasing nature of issues especially in terms of the transport network congestion in the Port
Botany (PB). The definite issues of the state resolved with the efforts of the leaders in this field
have been also taken into consideration. The situation in NSW has been also depicted with a
contributing role with the initiatives of infrastructure firm like Brookfield Infrastructure, QUBE
and Asciano (Zhang 2016). The significant nature of the qualitative characteristics of the study
has been further taken into account with the availability of land in Sydney and existing
congestion in the ports. The potential of the intermodal terminal at Moorebank is taken into
consideration to relate the existing problems in Sydney. In the contrary the quantitative impacts
have been depicted as per the spare capacity pertaining to the present rail routes which may be
used to address the significant problems of productivity and capacity at the ports. The
government of NSW is seen to take the different initiative like industry collaborative measures
and joint funding for the sustainability of the logistics operations. Moreover, the significant
addressing of the issues in the study are seen to be based on the different types of the
consideration of the study as per proactive measures taken by the government in enhancing the
rail infrastructure and network infrastructure which has been duly state under the purview of the
present discussions (Daniel 2018).
