Emerging trends and their impact on supply chain
management
Through my course learning, I learned that Global logistics is the procedure mainly a
discipline but also an drawing—of handling the movement of goods from side to side the
supply chain, from the dwelling where they are made to the place where they are expended.
Supply chain management is a field or an area that is evolving over the years and over the
years the field of supply chain management is rapidly changing. Due to the rapid changes,
there is an impact on every sub function and aspect of the stream chain which includes the
design of supply chain, introduction of a new product, sourcing the product to the final
customer.
1. Blockchain
According to my learning and understanding of the course, blockchain is a
form of database that helps in recording the digital data one example of this is Bitcoin.
Blockchain is the most popular emerging technology also it has taken the tech-savvy
merchants by storm, one of the most exciting things that I learned is that it can be
used for the non- currency purposes as well, it was initially only used as a financial
transaction. Blockchain technology helps to be more secure and transparent and it is
able to track all the transactions, it can also change the whole process of supply chain
as each time any creation will change the business would be able to get documented
which will also help in making a enduring past of the creation from the sale and
manufacturing. All of these things can help in reducing the delay in time, it can also
reduce the cost added and lastly it will also reduce the human error that plagues
transactions today.
