Research Aims and Questions
The aim of the research is to find out the relation between the parents and their
children and how it impacts upon the grades of the children in their schools.
The research tries to answer the following questions -
What is the correlation between parent’s engagement in their children education
and their children school attendance and grade/performance?
What is the effects of parents’ engagement in their children school on their school
attendance and grade/performance?
Rationale for proposed study
The rationale of this research study is to find out the level of involvement of the parent
in the lives of the children. This involvement and relationship has been judged from
the perspective of education. The aspect of education is the most important
requirement in the life of any individual. The extent to which a child is educated
depends upon the support provided by the parents and the other near and loved ones.
In this research study, it is shown how a parent support or harm the education of a
child by their involvement in the lives of their child.
Questions/Uncertainties
The research study has several inherent uncertainties related to it. For instance, it
has only looked in to the aspect of the involvement of the parents in the
increasing or decreasing of the grades of the students. It had therefore,
overlooked the significant role played by the teachers. It is the teachers who also
have a preponderant role to play in the lives of the students. They are the ones
who impart knowledge to the students and aid in the shaping of the personality of
the children. In this sense, the study has a gap in its nature and therefore, can be
termed to be uncertain when this area is looked in to.

Ethical Consideration
In the course of the study, several important ethical consideration has to be
complied with in order to make it a successful research study. The analysis of the
secondary sources required the researcher to ensure that the data provided were
analyzed in a transparent and honest manner so that the no discrepancy could be
noticeable. Moreover, the ethical consideration of maintaining confidentiality of
the names of the candidates was also adhered to. In the secondary sources, there
were several instances of primary research. The usage of this data meant that the
researcher had to protect the identity of the candidates who had participated in
such primary research study.
References
This research study seeks to follow the methodology of qualitative analysis of the
secondary sources. Qualitative analysis refers to the subjective analysis of the
data which is provided. There is no objective analysis and even the facts and the
figures are looked at from the point of view of providing a subjective analysis
and justification. The secondary sources are those sources where information
regarding the research study is already provided by other previous scholars. As
such, no new information is gathered or collection.
The qualitative systematic review of literature is used in this paper to collect the
data for analysis. The method focuses on integrating and comparing the findings
from the qualitative studies. This researcher employs selective sampling to search
for the sources. The articles are appraised through qualitative assessment to
mediate messages rather than for inclusion and exclusion. The researched articles
are analyzed in a detailed manner when any mention of any data has been taken
in to careful consideration. The data from such sources were then collated in to a
harmonious whole in order to arrive at the findings of the study.

Methods of data Collection and Analysis
The data has been collected with the help of secondary sources, whose
information was analyzed with the help of qualitative analysis. The research
sought to answer the research question and the data has been analyzed as stated
below -
Academic involvement or engagement remains a multidimensional construct
with varying definitions. The commonly utilized definition is the investment
(physical) alongside effort focused towards mastering, learning or understanding
the skills, craft or knowledge which academic work is designed to endorse.
According to Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (2015), parent involvement in
their respective children education is described as parents’ participation in
unvarying, collaborative, and significant communication engaging students’
academic learning alongside additional activities of the school
The research found out that the involvement of parents is significant for
increasing the grades of the students. In the secondary sources that were
analyzed, it was found that the behavioral involvement of parents improves the
achievement of the students since it nurtures both engagement and motivation of
children in their respective school (Pomerantz et al. 2007).
