Reflective journal:
Long term care is defined as the variety of services provided to the community
members or who are suffering from chronic illness and disability in an offer to help
them to meet both medical and non-medical needs (Harris-Kojetin et al., 2015). Long
term care is a focus on individualized and coordinate services and which promotes and
support the impendence of the quality of life (Coulter et al., 2015). The long term care
includes daily activities such as dressing, bathing, feeding cooking.
In this case, if I need long term care tomorrow, I would provide literacy to the
family members for raising awareness amongst the families by informing them why
long term care is crucial. It will increase awareness and prepare them for receiving
long term care (Chamberlain et al., 2016).
In order to seek long term care, I would communicate with the non-profitable
as well as movement agencies regarding the long term care plan and I will also
communicate local health care services if there are any facilities for long term care
services.
In the United States, 14%: of people who will need long-term
care for longer than five years (Jones et al., 2015). Approximately, 15,640 nursing
homes in the united states provide long term services to the families, especially
families where older adults are presents and suffering from chronic illness such as
dementia (Harris-Kojetin et al., 2016). American spent $219 billion on long term care
services and many NGO provide long term care.

In this current context, I would like to modify the lifestyle by improving the
nutritional requirement such as incorporating high protein, low carb, and a low-fat
diet. I would like to eliminate the habit of smoking and alcohol.
Currently, things are being paid with Individual retirement account, Roth
IRA, Pension and Severance package. However, few organizations provide minimal
services for long term care (Harris-Kojetin et al., 2016).
In order to improve the long term care, health literacy can be given to the
patients and their family members who will assist the long term care providers.

A typical mental health patient is the individual who shows certain symptoms
such as a change in personality, frequently anxiety, isolation, social withdrawal, risky
behavior, lack of self-care and sense of hopelessness (Bitsko et al., 2016). The mental
illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, borderline disorders, and
schizophrenia are commonly observed in individuals (Bitsko, 2016).

Due to the complexity of the illness, mental health illness currently is
increasing health care expenditure. Due to the high prevalence rate, in 2007, almost
the majority of the individuals between 16 to 84 years have experienced a mental
illness that further increased in 2016 (Roehrig, 2016). The direct mental health cost
include the care for the person solely and special need of the person. The direct
health costs of treating mental health conditions were estimated to be $55 billion and
on the other hand, the indirect cost such as family support, society and other
