A. Portfolio Contribution One
Some of the most important skills were taught to me at GBS in the recent past. My
perspective has shifted dramatically as a result of it. These abilities, on the other hand, are
necessary for my future schooling. Primarily, I've learnt how to make the best use of the
resources provided by the university. First and foremost, I've learnt how to use the library for
educational purposes and gain access to online resources. It gives me the opportunity to learn
about new books, journals, and educational resources. Second, this week has provided
opportunities to practise establishing plans that will result in more effective results and improved
learning (Johnsen and et. al., 2018). I also learnt how to take notes from lectures and online
resources, which is useful information to have. Finally, any academic course needs a
bibliography. It demonstrates which books and periodicals in the sector should be evaluated. The
course coordinator usually gives a brief bibliography for the course.
I did, however, learn how to create a bibliography and use it in research and assignments.
Plagiarism is a major concern for students. To avoid plagiarism, it is therefore critical to
correctly cite writings. It's critical to understand how to use material from books and periodicals
without infringing on copyrights. I've also learned how to check for plagiarism utilising a variety
of paid apps (Bader and et. al., 2019). Finally, a reference to written and explained material must
be provided. The sources of information should be clearly recognised, and citations should be
included whenever possible. I've discovered that a decent piece of writing contains enough
references and citations. It also guarantees that the material is accurate, which aids in subsequent
research and better grades. Most importantly, this week has led me to a long-term learning
environment.
B. Portfolio Contribution Two
It's also critical to have some talents for long-term learning that will benefit us in the actual
world. Skills that are important in both personal and academic life are prioritised heavily here.
First and foremost, students must be able to compose reflections in various forms throughout
their academic careers. Learning from practical experiences is quite beneficial. It also aids in the
comprehension of the theory and how it might be used in our daily life. In general, reflective
writing elicits students' inner sentiments and thoughts, which aids course coordinators in
determining the depth of their learning (Romeo, 2017). Communication skills are important in

any career, and they should be prioritised in GBS. Effective learning in academic courses can be
aided by communication skills. For many reasons, students must ask questions and engage with
course organisers. Furthermore, they should not allow any communication gaps when executing
group projects.
Communication skills can help students become more adept at negotiating, problem-solving,
asking questions, persuasion, and other abilities (Giering and Firdyiwek, 2020). Without
communication skills, it will be difficult for any kid to succeed in school. Debating is another
important skill that should be emphasised in both online and traditional courses. It helps pupils to
consider issues from a variety of angles. Debating can also make a topic more interesting and
profitable. Students may benefit in the long run by learning something through argument.
Presentation abilities are also essential for effectively representing anything. A competent
presenter can effortlessly attract their target audience and accomplish their objectives.
Nowadays, most academic courses and vocations require students to give a presentation (Panou,
2017).
As a result, learning diverse presentation styles and strategies will bring a lot of value. Time
management is, once again, a crucial ability. Our time is valuable, and it can provide benefits
from time to time. As a result, it is critical to effectively manage time. Our academic classes and
activities must be finished on time, and efficient time management can help us do this. To a
considerable extent, learning tactics and strategies for successful time management is necessary.
Finally, revisions are critical in any work, assignment, group project, or other endeavour, and
they can help us avoid making mistakes. However, various activities may require different
revising procedures. In all of our work activities, we must learn and apply revision strategies.
C. Portfolio Contribution Three
While studying, each student encounters a unique set of challenges. However, it is critical
for students to take practical steps to overcome these obstacles. While studying, I face a variety
of difficulties. To begin with, it is tough to maintain focus on the research. Second, time
management is tough to implement and maintain over time. Finally, I find it difficult to revise
themes. However, I've used a variety of approaches to overcome it. I usually make a weekly
schedule and attempt to stick to it no matter what (Romeo, 2017). If I succeed, I treat myself to a
treat. Otherwise, I avoid engaging in enjoyable activities. I keep my electronic devices and time-
consuming activities out of my reach once more. I rarely engage in non-essential tasks. I also

establish goals for myself, such as completing homework, studying for examinations, doing
group projects, and so on, within a certain amount of time. It encourages me to do my task on
time.
Students in the United Kingdom face additional problems, such as worldwide competition,
rising expenses, changeable student fees, and so on. To keep up with the worldwide competition,
I concentrate on hard work and staying informed. To handle financial constraints, I rely on a
variety of scholarships to a large extent. I believe my university provides adequate support to
meet the obstacles (Habeeb and Ebrahim, 2019). Most students, on the other hand, are unaware
of the various supports and resources available to them. It is critical to publicise the various
services given by the government. Furthermore, reducing complexity is crucial to a large extent.
For the benefit of the people, the university has health, mental health, and counselling support, as
well as extra-curricular facilities. In general, I set a daily and weekly regimen and work hard to
stick to them. In addition, if I do the activities correctly, I reward myself. Otherwise, I avoid
unwinding and devote less time to pleasure.
