INTRODUCTION
An airline is a company which provides the services of air transport for travelling freight
and passengers. The airlines which operates on the global level and transport the goods from one
country to another and can reach to every corner of the world then it is known as global airlines.
Within the airlines, there are operations of cargo management which is basically the process of
strategic and efficient moving of freight across their network from initial to to the final
destination with support of different intermediaries transportation and technologies as
well(Caves., 2015). In the present report, In the present report, Lufthansa's cargo business is
taken into consideration. The present report will cover discussion about operational area of
Lufthansa's cargo business. In addition to this, the report will cover analysis about the parameter
that in which manner it contributes to the performance of Lufthansa's business.

Cargo business basically refers to the those kind of business which provides services fo
freight for people who want to receive and send packages. There are basically over eighty
companies who offer these kind of services and they can also receive or send packages from any
kind of location in the U.S. It has been observed that These companies provide international
shipping as well. At the global level it has been observed that Lufthansa cargo is one of the
world's leading companies into the context of transportation of air freight. It has been observed
at the world wide basis that that the company has employed around 42000 people on the current
basis(Chen and et.al., 2017). The main aim of Lufthansa Cargo is on the business of airport to
airport. The network of route basically covers nearly 300 destinations into more than hundred
countries with support of both cargo capacity and freighter aircraft from aircraft passenger
operated through Austrian airlines, Lufthansa, Brussels airlines, Sun express and Euro wings
discover.

In context to cargo operations of Lufthansa which is about the activities that is related to
passengers and cargo which include coordination of terminal operators and stevedores. Cargo is
basically relevant to documentation and customs authorities as well(Cui and Li., 2022). Cargo
operations is basically about operations on board a vessel which involves transfer, handling,
venting of cargo, reliquefication or venting of cargo or about the management of residues from
the cleaning of tanks.
From the perspective of future, machines and humans work in harmony in order to offer
both superior and efficient customer service. Cargo facilities basically include automated and
green vehicles navigating by the facility, fully automated high-rack warehouses and employees
equipped with advanced tools. The main goal of Lufthansa cargo is to become the world's most
sustainable cargo airline. For achieving this company basically relies on continuous investments
and state of the art technologies. Lufthansa cargo has also planned to successfully equip its fleet
with Sharkskin technology and expand its sustainable aviation fuel program for reducing the
CO2emissions. The Lufthansa cargo group basically consist of different air-fright related
companies in the group of Lufthansa whose portfolios of destinations, products and services they
complement with each other. The group of Lufthansa cargo basically provides facilities into
different fields which includes Handling counts GmbH, airmail centre Frankfurt GmbH,
international cargo centre Shenzhen.
The airmail centre Frankfurt GmbH is basically a joint venture between Deutsch e post
AG and Lufthansa Cargo AG and Fra port AG as well. These services has been provided at the
airports of Munich and Frankfurt airports. They serve around three hundred flights in Frankfurt
and handles the outgoing and incoming mail and transit mail with the volume of four hundred
tons on the daily basis(Klingenberg., 2017). The company also keep updated with the
information on the processing status as well and also offers airlines with first rate handling
capacity. Under the handling counts GmbH, they wholly owned the subsidiary of Lufthansa
cargo. It was basically formed in the year of 2007 which follows the final arbitration
recommendation and collective wage negotiations as well. They have employed around three
hundred employees in Frankfurt Lufthansa cargo centre.

Under head of international cargo centre Shenzhen which is basically about the most
productive regions of industry of China which is situated between the Guangzhou and the mega
cities of Hong Kong. They also offer full range of services of cargo handling for the airport of
Shenzhen Bao'an international. The company is majorly synonymous with high-quality freight
handling services and also operates with Lufthansa cargo on the basis of equal partnership. They
also contribute into the context of enhancing the performance of business into positive manner
(Osieczko., 2019). When these services have been performed into appropriate manner then
customers also feel that the company cares about their customers. Due to this kind of efficient
services of Lufthansa Cargo then they will refer to other people as well to consider the services
of Lufthansa cargo operations. There are certain businesses who have to send their goods on the
daily basis to other countries so the level of performance of Lufthansa cargo management also
attracts business people to avail their services into positive manner. In this manner, Lufthansa
cargo operations management contribute into the context of enhancement of services of business
into result oriented manner.

The above stated report concludes that within the global airlines it is very important to
consider the operations management of cargo into positive manner. It has been concluded that
the cargo management is basically about the activities which needs to be handled in the
warehouses and logistic centres which basically include unloading cargo, transportation of
cargo , sorting, picking and warehouses as well. It has been determined that the performance of
business is also dependent on the management of cargo operations into effective manner. If the
management has not been done by the airline then it creates negative image into the market due
to which they loose their customers into business terms as well. So at the global level, it is very
important to manage the cargo operations into efficient manner.
