INTRODUCTION
Aussie company is a retail store that sells different home care, health care and food
products. The company has started as small retail store. It is situated in the remote areas of the
Australia. There were no retail shops at the time the store was opened first. The company was
opened with the intention to fulfil the needs of the natives. The Vision of the Aussie store is to
provide the best quality products to consumers to sustain in the market for long period. The
company mainly deals with the products such as beauty products, hygiene, cleansers, soaps,
groceries etc. The mission is to meet the needs of the consumers with the products that the
consumers feel the best. The value of the company is to work as a team to reach the common
goal which is to provide the best quality product to the consumers in the fastest and easiest way
and gain faith of the customers. The HR plan of the company mainly focuses on attracting more
customers and to hire new employees and make strategic decisions to reach the targets. Also HR
plan of the company includes employee development in which the HR ensures that employees
are being trained to reach the final company goals.
Strategic Human Resource Plan
Assessment of the current HR Capacity
The HR of the Aussie company is good in the management. There are different criteria of
assessing the HR capacity of the company (Aryani and Kiswanto, 2017):
Leadership
The HR plan is perfectly aligned with the mission and the vision of the Aussie company.
Also the employee relationship among the company are perfectly managed by the HR of the
company. But there is issues related to development in management and they are not able to
manage it correctly.
Public Service Values
The company has successfully implemented HR values and ethics in the organization.
There is a proper understanding between the employees and HR in the Aussie company.
Productive Work Force
The HR of the company needs to hire more employees that have common goals and work
ethics as the company. The Aussie company has shortage of workforce and needs more
candidates who believes in personal growth with growth of the company.

Enabling Work Environment
The major role of the HR management is to develop a work environment that provides
high level of performance and growth (Bals and et.al., 2019). The HR of the Aussie company is
successful in developing the proper work environment but there is scope of improvement. By
implementing new technologies for the staff, the Aussie company can improve the work
environment.
Sustainable Workforce
The HR management needs to ensure skill development and continuous learning of the
employees (Jiang and Gong, 2019). The current HR is partially successful in achieving it but
better strategy are required. The new strategies can involve new tools of learning and workshops
for training their employees that ensures their growth and development. The HRM of Aussie is
successful in workload management of their employees.
Forecasting the requirements of HR
The Aussie company needs increase the number of skilled people as their employees. The
HR management of the company has to take out the survey for finding the eligible employees
(Tannady, Nurprihatin and Hartono, 2018). It is important for the Aussie company to analyse the
demand of the existing eligible workers with need of the new experiences employees within the
work place.
Demand Forecasting
In the demand forecasting the employees are demanded by the HRM of the company.
According to which new workers are needed in the other departments as well as in the HR
department of the company. There are 3 employees are required finance department, 2 people in
marketing department and approximately 12 workers in consumer goods department. Also the
human resource department of Aussie company needs 4 more members in their team. In the
hiring process it is responsibility of the HR to bring new people in the company that will help in
fulfilling the current and the future needs of the company.

In this type of forecasting it helps the company to determine that the current employees
are meeting the demand or not. Through this forecasting the HRM will supply the current
employees in the different departments of the company to meet the current needs of the
company. The Aussie company will transfer 2 employees from grocery department to the health
care department because the health care department is lacking in reaching the targets and grocery
department has good employees that will help in boosting the sale. Also the Aussie company
needs to find the candidates outside the company that will help them to reach the current and the
future demands of the company.
Gap Analysis
Gap Analysis is process of the company which is used for analysing the comparison
between the current performance and the desired performance of the company (Perona, Saccani
and Bacchetti, 2017). It can be measured by the time, money and the workforce. Then it is
compare to the companies targets. By analysing this gap the HR management team creates new
strategies (Dankeieva and et.al, 2021). These strategies help to move the company in forward
direction and filling the gap of performance and the targets.
Aussie company is lacking in their performance. They are not able to reach the
company's targeted sales. The reason due to which there is a drop in the sales is because lesser
employees and increasing competition for the company. The organization is failing in attracting
the customers to their store. The firm is dealing with their old permanent customers only. To
fulfil this gap the company needs to earn customers and their faith. The Aussie company is
achieving only 70% of the targeted sale there is a gap of 30% in current performance and the
targeted performance of the company. There is a short fall in material causing 10% of the gap,
insufficient staff causing 15% and inability to attract consumer is 5%. New HR strategies must
be derived to fill this gap. The different strategies can involve promotional strategies, analysing
the consumer's demand, improving the service quality and availability of the products.
Strategies for Training and Development
There are many strategies that can be used for improving the staff's capabilities and
extracting the best outcomes from them (Noe and Kodwani, 2018). The Aussie company will use
few of the strategies that are as follows:

Instructor-led training: In this type of training, the instructor will be presenting and
instructing the employees of Aussie company. This is highly effective method of training
ad helps the attendees to understand complex topics. The presenter can answer to the
questions if attendees have doubt regarding the topic. The Aussie company will hire the
high skilled trainer to train the staff. Hands on training: The Aussie company will use a combination of learning tools and
methods. For this the HR will train their workers through delivering lectures. Then they
will read it in the books or the guiding manual. After this they will demonstrate
individually. Then they will role play it and then the employees will give presentation of
what they have learned (Abba, 2018).
Coaching: This type of training strategy mainly focuses on the relationship between the
employees and the experienced professional or senior employee in Aussie company. The
experienced professional can be their supervisor, coach or mentor. This type of training
style creates a relation between staff. Also it allows the employees to ask questions and
resolve their doubts. This training can be done in person, virtually or through online. It is
more time effective alternative of training.
These initiative of the learning and development must not end with the training session

Company will try to find the best people for the company. Hiring right employees in the
company is important. The hiring must be error less, so that company works at it's best potential.
The HR will go through their CV's, and a test, then there will be group discussion, after that
interview process. From all this process, it will help HR to understand the candidate's potential
(Brooks and Fenner, 2018). From this process they will hire the right candidates in the company.
Attractive Job Postings
To attract more candidates the HR team of the Aussie Company will prepare for the
attractive job opening posts (van Esch and Mente, 2018). There are many job portals and internet

job sites this can be used for posting job advertisements. They will also post about the job
opening in the newspapers and magazines with catchy advertisements so that this can appeal to
the large range of the candidates. This will give an opportunity to the company to improve the
hiring process.
Referral Programs
The company will also opt the referral programs as their recruitment process. In this
program the HR will inform their existing employees about the new job openings and they will
refer the candidates to the company. This will also help the HR to get the best lot as the

Outsourcing offers the solutions to cut down the cost of the human resources. This also

The Aussie company will maintain a team of remote employees. It is important to remove

will select those who have good commands over language. The company will allow the team for
the conversation through specific channels.

help the company in delivering and analysing the consumer's demand.
Warehousing and fulfilment
The company is handling the packing and shipping of their orders. It will be cost

help the company to save money and the employees of the company will not be distracted from

The Aussie company will encourage their employees to speak up whenever they have

talk.
Using the tools
The company will start using collaboration tools, like group video calls, chat apps,
knowledge management systems and task managers. Through these channels the teams can
communicate easily with each other. The main task of the HR is to ensure they are using it
properly. These tools will boost the productivity of the workplace (Li, D. and Liao, 2021).
Highlighting the strengths
By identifying the strengths of the employees, the managers will be allotting their teams
members with the tasks. The management of the Aussie company will help their employees by
assessing their employees, this assessment will help them to highlight strengths and weaknesses
of the staff. By this, the employees would feel confident and work will in the teams.
Restructuring strategy
The Aussie company's sales are dipping. There are many other problems as well. For that
restructuring is required the strategies that organization can opt are as follows: Downsizing: The Aussie company can use this strategy by shutting down the operating
units. The composition of business in the company's profile will not change through the
downsizing (Savitha and Ganseamurthi, 2020). The company can reduce the number of
units that are causing loss in the business. By shutting these units the company will be
able to focus on the units that are performing well and giving better outcomes. Divestiture: In this strategy company can sell their assets. This strategy has positive
impact on the performance of the company. The Aussie company will eliminate the part

loss to the company also it is affecting the overall performance of the company so it will
get shut down. The company can also create new business from the existing part of the

Strategic Alliance: The company will use strategic alliance. This will allow two or more

achieve their targets. In all this process the store remains independent and there is not any
involvement of other companies.

It can be concluded from the plan that the retail company is lacking in performing well
and reaching the targets of the company. This was evaluated from the gap analysis. For
accomplishing the mission and vision of the company, current HR capacity was analysed. Also
forecasting of HR requirements were carried out to achieve the mission statement of the
company. Different training, recruitment, collaboration, outsourcing and restructuring strategies
were outlined in the plan.
