INTRODUCTION
Payroll management is defined as the process of administrating financial records of
employees. This report is divided into two parts. The first part involves answering questions
related to payroll management in Australia. The second part involves completing tasks related to
payroll management as a payroll manager at IBIS hotel.

Answer 1:
The national employment standards are the minimum standards of employment covered
in the Australian standards of employment. The points covered in this standard include the
maximum weekly working hours which are 38 hours per week plus reasonable additional hours.
In addition to this, requests for increasing the flexibility of working, employees can ask for more
flexible working environment are also included in the minimum standard of employment (De
Cieri and et. al., 2019).
Answer 2:
Ensuring that the payroll is processed in designated time is an important feature of
Australian employment because it helps oversee that every employee is paid completely, with
entitlements to leave, allowances and so on. In addition to this, late payroll processes negatively
impact on employee morale and project financial instability of the company. This can affect the
daily productivity and brand reputation which is important elements to a successful firm.
Answer 3:
Corporates in Australia are responsible for reporting income tax return each year to report
business income and claim deductions. In addition to this, business firms are also required to
lodge annual reports or returns if they are applicable for other taxation categories. Business
activity statements are also common financial record which needs to be reported to the
Australian Taxation Office (Haque, Fernando and Caputi, 2019). The Australian tax authority
also requires the details of payments such as salaries, wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding
and superannuation need to be reported to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) via Single
Touch Payroll (STP).
