Employees health issues affecting manufacturing industry
There are several problems which occur and employees face and which affects
manufacturing industry to the great extent. Some mental and physical health issues of employees
include: Stress due to workload and burden of extra work. Accidental death and fear of this
accident is considered other main problem which employees of manufacturing have. Distress
and lack of confidence of working which decrease morale of employee and make them depressed
is other main problem (Loh and et.al., 2019). Workplace injury and discrimination which
affects their mental health. All these employees’ health issues are affecting manufacturing
company’s productivity and sales as well.

Stress Stress among employees can affect productivity because due to
this employee cannot focus on their projects.
Accidental death or fear
of accident
This can increase absenteeism from the workplace or companies.
Distress or lack of

It can decrease sales and increase errors in projects because

Workplace injury It can decrease employee retention rate which can affect image of

the company.

There are several objectives of developing wellness programs which all are related to employees
such as:

To make employee feel valued, motivated and pleased at workplace (Huang and et.al., 2016).
 To improve overall health of employees and increasing their concentration power.

hours and work load. When they will get longer working breaks
than they can make themselves refreshed.
Supportive leadership style By providing support, their workload and errors can be reduces
which will increase their confidence and they feel pleased.
Effective working It plays an important role as it can make them feel safe and

5 days week if possible It will help them out to spend time with family and society which
will make them refreshed and energetic at work.
Flexibility or shifts working Different employees have different type of nature and tendency
of working and by providing this opportunity they can work
accordingly and improve health.
Ways to obtain approval by presentation plan
For getting approval of developing a wellness programmes it is important to make an effective
plan and letter.
 In the first step, it is important to write all problems which employees are facing as well
as effects which it is having on the performance and productivity of company.
 After that it is important to write down all activities and programs which they want to
develop and motivation which can solve problems. Writing down estimating budget and
cost of each activity in that letter.
After that, writing down outcomes which they will get by doing this and investing such amount
in wellness development program and how it will affect on company’s performance, we can get
approval from manager. We can also have signature of some employee who are facing such
problems and which are affecting their mental health as well as their productivity at work (De
Vito and et.al., 2018). It will make sure to manager that all these problems are serious and need
to be focused.

It is important to market wellness program to employees in order to make them features
and effectiveness of this plan and how will it improve their health and will make them happy.
Choosing the best way of communication like E-mail and by open door policy and meeting, all
employees can make aware about this wellness programme. By sending greeting letter to each
employee, marketing of this program can be done (Kingsnorth, 2019).
Evaluation methods
Employee’s satisfaction tool can help in measuring effectiveness of the programme. By
viewing rating of satisfaction level of employees. Viewing list of employees sick leaves detail
we can identify that as employees want to take participate and have desire of taking advantages
or not. By taking feedbacks from employees without writing their names, effectiveness of the
program can be known or measured.

Continuous improvement system
By using some activities continue wellness of employees can be maintained. For
example: making aerobic classes, meditation classes an activities session compulsory, employees
can be made feel valued and pleased at workplace. By making appropriate changes at workplace
like changing interior, using all safety equipments, employees can be feel safe and secure at
workplace.
SECTION C
Company policies
By developing policies and making it compulsory for all, wellness of employees of
manufacturing can be maintained.
Aerobic policy.
 As per this policy, it is important for all employees to take an active participation in this
activity except those who have genuine reason and problems.
 They must come with their own mat, towel.
 Come on the time in the class.
 Bring their own water bottle with them and not allowed to bring food and aerobic class.
Warm up before entering in the class.
Activity policy
 No one will be allowed to keep themselves away from activities and working in that
activity time.
Safety policy
 As per this policy all employee are bind to wear safety equipments dress and use tools if
required.

will not only improve health of employees but also will allow companies to increase sales and
having an effective image in the eyes of customers. When employee work with concentration
than they are more likely to improve productivity and providing qualitative services to
customers. It increases customer retention in an organization.
