Introduction
The management of an organization is very crucial in its survival and competitiveness.
This is because the management is tasked with the responsibility of making decisions. however,
in order for an organization to make a concise and considerate decision, there are several factors
that should be considered. This involves such factors as the structure of the organization, the
forces in the organization, potential risks in the organization, organization and business practices,
and diverse firm functions. These factors are very significant when making a decision within a
firm because they characterize an organization. Every organization makes decisions depending
on the situation in which it is in as well as the way it usually operates. This means that each of
the mentioned factors is very important in decision-making since they build the context from
which a decision is made. This piece of work provides annotated bibliography on peer-reviewed
journals that address these factors.

This article presents a review of theories, findings of research as well as reports from
different literature. The main idea of this article was to give a proposal of a response which is
effective in a business organization regarding global challenges as well as sustainable
development and their impact on an organization. Considering the fact this article addresses the
global challenges in an organization, it is clear that the issue of environmental forces is
considered since global challenges are external environmental forces. The global challenges

affect the decisions that an organization takes and the possible adaptations it incorporates in its
operations. The findings of this review indicate that many leading organizations are making use
of corporate social responsibility as well as corporate governance in order to adapt to global
challenges. The review puts it clear that global challenges are very crucial in determining the
relevant interventions that would be used in order to maintain the competitiveness of the
organization. Virakul (2015) argues that the global challenges that an organization faces
influences the strategies the management would implement to ensure that they maintain their
position within the society as well as maintaining a good relationship and terms with the
organizational stakeholders. These findings are very significant to organizational managers since
interventions are suggested which can help them to maintain their position and performance by
countering global challenges. The interventions which are suggested with the support of
evidence in countering various global challenges include the implementation of corporate social
responsibility as well as corporate governance.
