Similarly, another enterprise named Rio Tinto’s present business operations including poor conditions of laborforce, work instability etc also focuses on the adverse influence of globalization on the company. Rise in growth of trade is one of the economic factors that impacts globalization. Even the political issues arising within the countries also influence the globalization. It has been stated byCook(2017) that, differences in national culture plays vital role in the international business management. Cross cultural failures might happen often in mergers, jointventures,alliancesetc.Differentculturalaspectsbetweenthecountriesimpactthe behaviors of consumers, employees and management of an enterprise. For example, as US culture value is different from that of alternate value, it impacts on the business in various aspects. Anthony also given the views that globalisation influences performance of capital market and affects personal lives. James Shikwat views that globalization as trade and not aid. Even the cultural approaches of Australia and New Zealand affect the enterprise. Hofstede approach presents five dimensions of national culture involving- timeorientation,powerdistance,uncertaintyavoidance,quantityandqualityoflifeand individualism vs collectivism that distinguishes between the category of people and enterprises (Minkov and Hofstede 2012). Also, Trompenaars approach focuses on seven dimensions of culture including-universalism vs particularism, individualism vs communitarians, internal vs external, specific vs diffuse, neutral vs emotional, sequential vs synchronic. Section 2 Woolworths being one of the successful companies around the world also faced huge competition due to globalisation. In this wake of increased competition as well as globalization, it has been seen that this company has taken the decision to liquidate the physical assets and mainly concentrate on online retail operations. Moreover, difference in national culture also impacts the operations of Woolworths. The employees coming from abroad are facing difficulty to adjust with this nation’s culture, which in turn creates conflict within the business. Thus, being

Week 3: Activity 2- Enterprise culture and management Section 1 Enterprise culture mainly involves different values that contribute to social business environment. Culture within the organization refers to beliefs as well as behaviors which determinethewayenterprise’smanagementandworkersinteractoutsidethebusiness transactions (Cook 2017).The given culture highlights on the changing enterprise culture of IBM integrated by Grestner (CEO of IBM) has led to numerous issues including- outmode practice, high approach of cost etc. Owing to these issues, Grestner has implemented effective strategy in integrating change within IBM culture (Bolton, Brunnermeier and Veldkamp 2012). This in turn leads to end of liberal policies that inspire work and thereby the workers are now forced to give efficient service to their consumers.Additionally, it has also brough about change in customer’s attire over the years. Gerstners also led to huge revolution for change and also created transformation condition. It has been cited byNongo and Ikyanyon(2012) that, there are seven dimensions of enterprise culture including- aggressiveness, people orientation, team orientation, outcome orientation, innovation, stability and attention to detail. All these dimensions of culture facilitate to differentiate between the cultures of the organization. Enterprise culture is also determined in four ways, involving- intensity of enterprise culture, size of entity, age of enterprise and workers turnover.Eccles, Ioannou and Serafeim(2012) cited that strong culture have higher influence on employees, increase commitment of employees, creates key values and leads to high enterprise performance. When an enterprise has strong culture, it mainly keeps its employees passionately engaged focused and engaged. This in turn helps to improve the

Moreover, culture is also promulgated among the employees through different stories, language, material symbol and rituals. The decisions taken by the management of organization regarding planning, organizing, leading and control is also affected by culture. Section 2 From my own experience, it has been observed that enterprise culture also influences the performance of Woolworths. As this company has strong enterprise culture, it increases it productivity and improves the work environment. Since all the employees agrees with this business culture, it enhances their efficiency and performance in job. The managers of this organization motivate the employees and builds good relationship with them. This in turn creates open culture and thereby attracts more workers in business. Conclusion It is evident from the above study that the management of the enterprises changes its business practices while operating in the global environment. The first activity reflects that nationalculturedifferencesaffectthemanagementoperationsoftheorganizations.As globalization has been influencing the enterprises, proper implementation of strategies helps to overcome these challenges. Moreover, various framework also provides a view on this difference in cultures. The second activity highlights that the enterprise culture has also changed over the last few years. The management of the organization should adopt proper strategy to create strong culture within the organizations. Hence, this will help the enterprise to achieve success in the business operations.
