INTRODUCTION
Operation management and leadership are the key elements of business growth and
success within competitive business world, where each organization give tough competition
to their rival that has operated in same industry or market. These two components contribute
to increase the productivity and profitability of companies. It plays vital role in progress of
brands even better than last years or months. The current assignment will be based on
Osymar Construction Limited, which falls under the category of private sector organizations
in the London, UK. The study will define roles and characteristics of a manager & leader and
differentiation between them by applying concepts and theories for effective management of
company. It will explain how role of a leader & function of manager apply in different
situations of working under pressure. The report will justify varied theories and concepts of
approach as a source for further operational activities for firm and strengths & weaknesses of
each.
It will describe evaluation of approaches to leadership and method of operations
management as well as role that managers and leaders play in Osymar construction limited.
The assignment will explain significance of operations management and how leader &
manager can enhance efficiencies of it. It clarifies factors within venture environment that
impact decision making and operation administration. Lastly, the study will justify how each
factor affect business environment and evaluation of concepts to leadership in organizational
context.

1- Defining and compare different roles & features of a leader and a manager to determine
where the issue lies
A person who take accountability of existing as well as new employees is known as a
leader that contribute in success of a company in varied ways (Gottfredson, Wright and
Heaphy, 2020). Below are some roles that they may play within chosen firm to identify
where issues at workplace lies.
Roles and characteristics of a leader-
Problem solver-

The best role that a leader may play within organization is current one through which
they may communicate with 10 workers that employed in Osymar Construction Limited and
get information about what challenges or issues they face at workplace.
Build strong workforce-
Another duty of a leader is to build effective and productive teams of players at
workplace that effectively and productively contribute to gain competitive edge for brand.
Motivate workers-
They encourage staff and boost their morale through it, which also included in
category of leader’s roles that they may play in firm (Liu, Chen and Lee, 2021).
Empathy-
In term of characteristic, leader may hold this feature which is an important part of
leadership effectiveness (What Are the Characteristics of a Good Leader, 2021). It enables
them to determine issues and improve work environment for those around whom they
perform.
Effective communicator and supporter-
Another quality of a leader is this one that help to identify where an issue lies in
company and how to solve it by using effective communication skills and better support to
each candidate.
An individual person who take charge of managing overall business performance and
increase productivity of an organization that named as manager.
Duties and features of a manager-
Develop effective plan to strengthen workforce-
The main role of a manager within Osymar is to develop plan related to resource
arrangement and workforce development at workplace.
Create strategies and plans-
They accountable to develop strategies in regard to analyze key performance of
workers and understand issue that they may face during job duration within company (Lina
and Neringa, 2020).
