In recent era, management is one of the important aspect because it helps to manage and
control all over activities and operations in effective and efficient manner. Therefore, every
business firm seeks to be adopt appropriate management system within the organisation for
managing and controlling business operations and activities. So that they can achieve their goals
and objectives as well as they can get success in competitive market place. Apart from this
management and operations is a important concept because with the help of this company can
enhance their efficiency and effectiveness in a significant manner. This report is based on Ford
Motor Co. it is a automotive company which were founded in 1903 (White, 2016). This company
provides cars, trucks as well as other services and products such as maintenance, collision,
vehicle accessories and so more. This report will discussing about major roles and
responsibilities of leaders and managers in the context of Ford. Additionally, various key
approaches of management operations also will be explaining in a effective style. In this last,
will be elaborating several factors which influence operations management and decision making
process.

P 1 Roles and characteristics of leaders and a manager
Ford Motor Company is an American multinational organisation. Basically, it is a largest
auto-maker which founded in 1903 by Henry Ford. This business firm provides auto-mobiles and
commercial vehicles to customers which included in ford brand apart from this most luxury cars
and services are included in Lincoln brand. Additionally, this provides several services and
facilities to customers such as maintenance, collisions, vehicle accessories and so more. In the
other words, headquarter of this company in Dearborn as well as it has more than 166000
employees also it operates approximately 70 plants across all over the world (Baboli and et. al.,
2014).
Leaders: Generally, leadership is a quality in a person due to this a person can effectively
lead to others towards their works and tasks. Therefore, leader is a person who have various
qualities so that they can enhance motivation and confidence level of their followers. Apart from
this, as I am a Associate manager at Ford leaders and managers are plays several important role

within the organisation. With the help of them a company can effectively attain their objectives
and goals in effective and efficient manner.
Managers: Manager is a person who responsible to manage and control all over business
activities and operations in effective and efficient manner. In the context of Ford, as I am a
Associate manager in Ford company. My major responsibility and role is have to be effectively
allot the works and tasks to employees as per their capabilities and skills as well as have to be
manage and control business operations in a significant way ( Chen and et. al., 2010).
Role of leaders and managers
Leaders are required at all level of the organisation for effectively implement and execute
the plan and programmes in the company. In the context of managers, who set objectives
and goals of the company as well as managers helps to motivate and increase confidence
level of employees towards their targets.
Leaders plays vital role within the organisation because it helps to give appropriate
guidelines and directions to employees whereas managers provides appropriate training
towards their works and tasks so that they can effectively perform their operations. As
per my point of view, managers can become leaders but leaders cannot become a
successful leader in effective and efficient way.
Major characteristics of leaders and managers
Managers and leaders must have positive attitude towards their works and tasks.
As I am Associate managers at Ford so it is my responsibility to equality treat all over
employees without discrimination nature.

functions of leaders and managers with in the organisation. According to my point of view,
leaders and managers are responsible to manage and control business operations and activities in

and works. Apart from this, managers and leaders are the important post within the organisation
because they helps to enhance motivation and confidence level of their employees towards their
tasks due to this they can effectively perform their tasks.

leaders and managers so that they can complete their tasks in a significant style. In the other
