INTRODUCTION
Management is technique as well as method which utilise by leaders and manager in
organisation for completing work within appropriate manner. Whereas, operations are practices
or functions which is conducted in business firm for accomplishing predetermined targets and
goals in impressive manner (David and David, 2019). This report is based on Next plc. which is
British multinational clothing, footwear as well as home products retailer. It was introduced in
1864 as well as its founder was Joseph Hepworth and headquarter is located at Enderby,
Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom. In this report topic will going to elaborate are
difference between role of leaders and managers function. Along with this, it also include factors
that have effect on operational management and decision making of leaders. Furthermore, it also
involve diverse operational practices of company and its relation with management as well as
leadership by utilising several theories and models.

Manager – A manager is the individual who is responsible for part of an organisation
i.e., they manage the Company. In simple terms it can be said that, manager may be in charge of
division and the people who are working within it. They also direct staff members for
accomplishing specific activities in effective and proper manner.
Leaders – It is defines as individual who holds superior position as well as authority in
business firm. In addition to this, leaders have capabilities to exercise high level of control on
subordinates or staff members as well as have influencing power. Along with this, He/she is the
individual who have ability to influence group of staff members for achieving business firm
goals as well as objectives.
Similarities and differences within manager as well as leaders of Next Plc :-
In relation to Next plc, both leaders as well as manager play important role and also
provide assistance in conducting day to day operations within effectual manner so that goals of
organisation will accomplished in better way (Reid and Sanders, 2019). Leaders as well as
managers has numerous same as well as different characteristics which are based on the role

are also taken which will provide assistance in knowing requirement of employees that

reason behind conflict. With the assistance of conducting meeting leaders will develop

result in accomplishing predetermined goals and objectives within effective manner.
Function of managers -
In this situation manager of Next Plc. Will design appropriate rules and regulation for
resolving conflicts within workplace. In addition to this, leaders also make sure that
designed rules and regulation is following within effective manner so that there will be no
chances of rising conflict situation.

it is essential to conduct internal and external factor analysis so that, proper strtaegies will
design.

and every organisation to conduct their operations as well as management in appropriate manner
