INTRODUCTION
Management is the supportive aspect to manage the overall operational activities that
considered it for outcomes or non-profitable for organisation. It is essential at various level as per
the requirement which is useful in term of applicable of the production process regarding the
improvement of the company (Alcantara and Alves, 2016). All activities are controllable through
functions of management such as planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling where
the company is optimising the profitability. Operation management is directed for the company
in order to manage the cost of commodities that is useful on the basis of company profitability.
In this report the company is to be taken is Asda Stores plc, it is a British supermarket
retailer in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It was establish in year of 1949 and expanded into overall into
1970s and 1980s as well as acquired Allied carpet. The annual revenue is around 21,666 million
pounds as with employees 1,65,000 are actively participate in overall branches of Asda Stores.
This report is covering the different role and characteristics of leader and manager, by using of
examples reflect the role of leader and function of manager in situational context (Battaïa and et.
al., 2018). To apply different leadership theories, discuss the main key approaches to operational
management along with role of leaders and manager (Chiu and Western Digital Technologies
Inc, 2016). Importance of operation management to accomplish the objectives, to examine the
business environmental which impacts upon the operation management and decision making
through leader and manager.

Introduction of Leadership and Management.
Leadership: It is the factor of accomplishment of a goal through the direction of human
supporter. It is an art of motivating aspect where a group of people to act towards accomplish
common objectives. Effective leader are those who design the structure with their proper ideas in
original along with effective communicate to engage them towards their task and according to
this leaders can make the other act as their style.
