INTRODUCTION
Management of operations is an integral part of any organisation as it put emphasis on
improving the efficiency and effectivenesses of a firm through various aspects (Chiarini and
Vagnoni, 2017). Uber Technologies is a firm that is established since a long time and has
captured a big market share due to this and the company keeps on expanding its business to
various parts of the world. This report covers various topics such as comparison and evaluating
different roles and characteristics of a manager and a leader, various approaches and functions of
a leader and a manger. Apart from this importance and values, various operations management
and the role of both of the above are also discussed. Further different factors of business
environment that affects and effects a manger and a leader different aspects are also included in
this report.

Analysis, evaluation, and comparison of various types of roles and characteristics of a leader and
a manager
Leader- A leader is a person that sets a direction for other followers like a path that has
to be followed. Foresightedness is a quality of a leader that differentiates from others as well as
facilitation of plan is also done by a leader in an impactful manner. Also each and every person
potential is judged by a leader and then best use of the capability of all the followers is done by
it. Uber technologies has a great team of leaders that form a core team and works for the
betterment and well being of the firm (Choi, Chan and Yue, 2016).
Manager- A manger is an intellectual person that makes plan after detailed analysis and
evaluation of all the aspects that are prevailing in the market. Decision is taken by mangers in
accordance with all the employees that are working for the company. Uber technologies has an
excellent wing that comprises of managers that are experts in various fields and thus directly
helps the company in achieving its goals and objectives effectively and efficiently.
