INTRODUCTIONManagement and Operations both are fundamental element of any organization. Strategicmanagement and operational functions deliver productivity and excellence to workforce andorganization as well(Slack and Brandon, 2018). This study will focus upon different roles of leaders and managers and their impact onoperational management of the organization. The study will highlight differentapproaches/theories of operations management with strength and weakness of each approach.The report will address all mentioned tasks in context of AMAZON, the largest international E-commerce company. Amazon was founded in 5th of July 1994 by Jeff Bezos, which was startedas an online book store but later diversified their selling process. It is the largest internetcompany by revenue in the world. There are more than 613,300 employees working in Amazonand operates across the world. This study will present the role of leaders and managers indifferent situational contexts. It will also highlight some key approaches to operationalmanagement role of leaders and managers in increasing operational management efficiency.LO1. P1 Roles and characteristics of Leaders and ManagersLeaders may be a person who influences people towards the achievement of goals in anorganisation. A leader is a person who is in charge, a person who motivates and convinces otherpeople to follow him or her.Manager is a person who is in charge to a certain group of tasks or any subset of anorganisation. Managers design reward and benefit system to increase employees' satisfaction and motivation.Supporter: Leader supports its team member fully in terms of all possible aspect. Facilitator: Provide different facilities to employees in terms of compensation, reward and other benefits.Effectively communicate with team members and resolve their problems.Managers are the least approachable by employees to resolve organizational conflict/issues.Representative: Leaders represents the whole team andDisseminator: Disseminates suitable job role and Leaders are less permissive to take any action.Managers are highly authorized to take any actions/measures.2
