INTRODUCTION
Management and operation refers to the administration of different business practices in
order to develop highest level of possible efficiency within the firm. On the other side, it is
considered as one of the best method which convers materials or labour into finish goods and
services for maximization of organizational profit (Boyd and Dougherty, 2016). Operation
management teams effort to balance costs with high revenue to attain highest profits within
competitive scenario. Present assignment is based on Aston Martin which is known as one of the
best British independent manufacturer organization of luxury sport cars. It was formed in 1913
through Lionel Martin which is headquartered in Gaydon United Kingdom. Furthermore, this
assignment will discuss about comparison of several roles and characteristics of leader and
function of a manager. After this role of manage and leader plays significant role within firm. At
last, understanding of relationship and management in context of contemporary into the business
environment will get accomplished.

P2 How role of a leader and manager functions applicable on different situational context
There are different types of roles and functions played by manager and a leader in order
to achieve targeted goals or objectives in an appropriate manner. In context of Aston Martin, it is
essential for them to develop best working environment for employees at workplace. With the
help of this they can develop better relations with them and achieve targeted goals. Leaders of
respected organization commonly play different roles such as allotted work to employees,
projects schemes and many more. Along with this, they are bringing few changes in its tools and
technological method by which they can provide best services to their employees in a perfect
manner. Apart from this managers and leaders of particular organization have aim to develop
high level of business to attain targeted goals (Han and et. al., 2017). Some of the functions
played by manager or leader in Aston Martin mentioned below:

Team-building: It can be difficult for firms to develop best team as there are different types of
employees who works together to achieve targeted goals. Therefore, leaders are requiring here to
follow autocratic styles of leadership by which they can develop effective manpower to create
good relations with employees. Herein, manager needs to focus needs and wants of employees
for further improvement. In regards of Aston Martin, both manager and leader work together for
developing best team at workplace. By doing work together they can develop better environment
for employees. Along with team building considered as best practice that helps firm to achieve
goals in stipulated time.
Project management: This is based on task performance of employees to achieve targeted
goals. In regards with Aston Martin leaders or managers have responsibility to determine
employee’s performance always. According to this, leaders play significant function by
increasing working efficiency of employees every time. On the other hand function of manager
is to provide accurate guidelines to employees that develop positivity at workplace. Thus,
playing different types of role or functions by manager or leader influence entire working
condition of employees so that they can achieve targeted objectives within in the specific way.
P3 Various theories and models including systems, situational leadership and contingency
approaches
Leadership considered as essential activity and process that involves ample number group
of people at workplace. It also helps firm to develop great vision by which they can get accurate
information and knowledge towards current situation of business. Therefore, leaders are the one
who always encourage employees along with improve their working performance (Nayak, 2015).
Thus, leaders play significant role within Aston Martin by which they can attain its
predetermined gals. There are some different types of models and theories, mentioned below:
Situational leadership: According to this approach managers and leaders of Aston
Martin, they can bring few changes any time in order to fix best way to increase working process
of employees. Thus, it is essential for firm to create social belief and control that shows the
ability of leadership.
Contingency leadership: This theory not only concentrates on leaders but also focuses on
every condition in which people interact with each other. On the other side, this type of
