Executive summary
Technology has influenced the field of corporate communication
In the previous years, the field of corporate communication was relatively low within the
educational institutions and in the organizations. According to Argenti (2006), the corporate
communication has benefited the business organizations by managing a more effective and
integrated organizational function that has been possible through technological changes and has
facilitated corporate growth, establishment and generation of higher revenue structure. The new
technological equipments and machineries have also created ease for the employees to
communicate with each other and discuss about the various business aspects. Not only the
advanced technologies have made individuals within the organizations tech savvy, but also has
created convenience in managing good relations with the customers. It also ensured automation
of customer relationship management and formed email-marketing campaigns to communicate
with the customers (Argenti 2006). It is necessary to implement different types of
communication technologies for influencing the way people communicate such as mobile work
from home, unified communications and closer collaborations.
The mobile communication technologies involve the use of wireless devices, network
infrastructures and web based collaborations for transforming the way individuals work at offices
in a positive way. It has engaged more people and helped in maintaining the progress that is
expected. With the use of mobile technologies and smart phones, individuals have been able to
communicate with each other quite easily (Argenti 2006). People can work away from the office
and establish a secure network to remain connected with the people from the office and discuss

about the work that to be done. The internet technology facilitated the communication process
via emails and they can communicate with each other through telephonic conference calling,
video conferencing and by sending instant messages. The meetings are arranged electronically,
which has also simplified the process of transferring and exchanging information in the form of
documents (Chen and Chang, 2013).

Another example of technology’s impact on corporate communication includes the use of
digital whiteboards, which has brought the employees and remote workers to work together
while undertaking a project. There are video chat options and screen sharing that allows us to
communicate frequently and streamline the business workflow through promotion of effective
teamwork (Sanders 2007). The Artificial Intelligence or AI technologies have supported
communication within workplace and fostered business success by enabling innovation to meet
the evolving customers’ needs too. All these technologies have integrated the traditional unified
communication tools and developed new ways of working to foster team collaboration and
productivity (Argenti 2006).

that involves social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. to remain connected with
people regardless of the boundaries and limitations (Chen and Chang 2006). The communication
technologies have transformed the workplace into a corporate social network that had allowed
people to work together and as an unit to create good relationships and manage positive impacts
on the productivity of the businesses too (Sanders 2007).
