MANAGEMENT
Introduction
Educational leadership caters to the process of catering to the educational needs of the
students in school or university. Competency to lead a group through the means of
discussions enhance the leadership qualities of the educational professionals. In this context,
management approach is reflected from the introduction of policies for altering the standards
and quality of education programs and practices (Bush, Bell & Middlewood, 2019). The
leaders here assume the role of principals and administrators for planning the infrastructural
development. Several questions play an important role in assessment of the feasibility and
effectiveness of leadership in the educational parameter. These are as follows:
Is the leadership quality existing within the individual capabilities of the professionals
or the educational curriculum?
Do the students and the professionals possess the capability to influence the thinking
of the fellow mates?
Is there clarity in the mission and vision governing the mission and vision?
The professionals are trained about the ways and means of improving the educational
systems and institutions. Typical exemplar of managerial approach is reflected from the
aspects of effective communicator and self-confidence. Apart from this, positive thinking and
management of conflicts also reflects the attitude towards managing the exigencies
(Amanchukwu, Stanley and Ololube, 2015). The characteristic attributes of an educational
leaders are empathic, integrity and honesty, objective, goal oriented, flexibility and
foresightedness.
The concept of educational leadership has undergone significant changes in terms of the
abilities and competencies of the teachers. As per the earlier connotations, the teachers were
considered to be full of knowledge and the student were thought of as ‘empty jugs’.

MANAGEMENT
According to the modern perceptions, the students are considered to possess ideas and
knowledge from beforehand, which is facilitated through the means of encouragement and
motivation of the teachers and professors.
An educational leader is to possess a vision and capability for influencing the thinking
skills and judgmental capabilities of the fellow mates. In this case, leadership theories seem
to be effective for gaining a better understanding. For example, Great Man Theory believes
that leaders are in born and not made. As a matter of specification, this theory states that
leadership qualities are inherent and is exempted from the need of training (Hallinger, Wang,
Chen & Liare, 2015). Countering this, leadership qualities need to be enhanced through
regular practice, motivation and encouragement from the seniors. Reference can also be cited
of the Trait theory, which states that some of the qualities and traits drive the individuals to
leaders. In this context, behavioural theories are relevant in terms of enhancing the
personality.
Situation theory detects the situational factors, which assists the individuals to become
leaders. These factors are time, place and circumstances. Personal situation theory is the
intellectual, affective and action traits, which is adopted for effective management of the
situations. If humanistic theory is considered, understanding can be achieved towards the
approach of the leaders towards the situations in the surroundings. Amanchukwu, Stanley and
Ololube, (2015) is of the view that modification of the constraints enhance the freedom of the
individuals, assisting them to realize their potentials. According to Path Goal Theory, goals
are considered to be the agents of change in the performance for the followers. Motivation
and encouragement from the professors enables the students to encounter changes in the
academic skills, competencies and abilities.
