Racial as well as financial discrimination in the educational institution is the major concern in
this article. The scholarship system which has been introduced for the students who belong from
the lower income background, is not sufficient for surviving in the university campus. The poor
students are being involved into the community detail program where other students go for the
development act6ivioties. The discriminatory approach towards the poor students in the
educational sector has highlight the dark reality of the society. The Unfair behavior towards the
students who belong from lower income group, highlights the college admission scandal. This
behavior in the educational field creates disillusionment and frustration among the students,
which indirectly influence the culture. In this article, Smith has highlighted the actual scenario in
the educational institutions behind the photo shopped images and others promotional activities in
the educational sector.
Analyzing the situation highlighted by Smith, it has been identified that class differences among
the students as well as racial discrimination between the white skinned and black skinned
students, the negative environment has been highlighted in the article. Examining the interview
mentioned in the article, the actual scenario in the elite-college has been highlighted, where the
dominance of students belong from wealthy families is noticeable1. The societal hierarchy is
clearly shown in this particular article. By supporting the argument, it can be said that poor
students are the real victims of the class discrimination in the colleges.
Classism as well as racism are the important concern in educational sector, which creates
physical as well as mental torture on the students. As an example, it can be said that 79%
students who belong from the wealthy background, completes the bachelor degree, on the other
