What Documentation Management Is?
The term Document Management System (DMS) is referred to the process of using computer
and software for storing, managing and tracking electronic documents or information based
on the electronic images of paper, capturing through the means of using a document scanner
(Girard and Girard, 2015). Basically, it is how an organization stores, tracks and manages the
electronic documents.
What Records Management Is?
According to Smith and Wong (2016), systematic control and efficient management of the
receipt, creation, maintenance, use and disposition of the records in an organization is termed
as the Records Management. This includes the process that maintains and captures the
evidence of the information relevant to business transactions and activities in the form of
records.
How the two impacts an Organisation?
Document management is a common component found within business operations and are
helpful in controlling and organizing documents throughout an organization. Record
management in an organization is responsible for providing evidence of any business
activities, transaction or decision during the course of business operations (Rowley and
Farrow, 2018). These are valuable information since it can be utilized in future for creating or
receiving new documents.
What is an Information Management Strategy?
Girard and Girard (2015) mentioned information Management strategy is a field of business
operations that are responsible for accountability of the design and structure, security and
storage, quality, movement, usage and delivery of information that are required for
management and business intelligence.
