II. Tourist attraction is one of the main ingredients of the eco-tourism throughout the globe. The
eco-tourism is the areas is the tourism to the areas including some of the ecological interest
which are the exotic and often threatened and challenged environments of the nature. Apart from
the protection of the pristine environments and the natural habitats, the eco tourism has certain
economic advantages (Pratt and Harrison 2015). This essay aims to highlight the challenges and
the contemporary issues that has been impacting the hospitality and ecotourism industry in
Australia in the light of the potential travelers touch points highlighted above.
In the stage of the inspiration stage of the travelers touch point, the travelers generally takes
suggestion and consider the word of mouth and research the internet for furthermore information
regarding the place of interests they aim to visit (Wardle et al. 2017). In case of eco tourism, the
travelers research regarding the accessible hotels, the travelling and the guide packages within
the nature tourist spot that is most recommended by others (Wearing and Wearing 2016). One of
the major challenge in this stage that affects the eco tourism of Australia is the negative
comments in personal blogs, word of mouth and social media regarding the lack of sustainability
of the natural resources in Australia, which makes most of the travelers to change their mind set
and they tend to choose more luxurious resorts and sea side tourism which have easy and
accessible travelling and staying.
In the stage of pre trip, while initiating to buy tickets for the destination one of the issues that rise
is that most of the eco spots and the natural spots in Australia does not allow and have access to
cars and other vehicles which makes the family tourist and the elderly tourist to back out (Wardle
et al. 2017). Furthermore according to the reports, eco tourism has not also been among the
favorite place for the couples due to the lack of access to necessities and comfort.

During the stage of in –destination, some of the major challenges in the traveler’s point that
furthermore affects the tourism industry includes the natural disaster and the safety of the
visitors. Environmental impact is one of the biggest challenge for the industry in this stage.
Though one of the main purpose of the tourism is to conserve the environment, it furthermore
can have detrimental effect instead (Venables et al. 2016). The natural attractions suffers from
usage. Besides these, human visitors tends to disrupt the wildlife resulting in changes in the
feeding and the mating habits of animals. Another big challenge is the remote areas creating
carbon footprints hence disrupting the activities of the eco tourism.
In the post tour stage, one of the most challenging factor is the reviews and the customer
comments on the basis of their experience on the eco-tourism. Often the eco tourism of Australia
loses tourist due to the negative reviews regarding the lack of facilities and pollution in the
natural spots (Crane and Fletcher 2016). Besides these the lack of the investments, problems with
the infrastructures and the provision of the adequate facilities hampers the satisfaction of the
visitors thus affecting the economic profit of the eco-tourism of Australia.
III. The government had undertaken several projects and strategies for the preservation of the
eco-tourism of the country. The principal of the successful eco-tourism and the natural places in
Australia includes the framework and includes the strategies to look after the natural resources,
the development of mutually benefit partnerships, initiation of bond with investors and
stakeholders to invest in place and people, provision of high quality visitor experiences and
respecting the rights of the community people residing in the remote areas (Huveneers et al.
2017). Some of the highlighted area within the eco tourism of Australia includes the great barrier

reef, the wet tropics, the kakadu national park, the Uluru kata Tjuta National park, Tasmanian
Wilderness and the Kosciusko National Park (Singh, Dash and Vashko 2016). The national
heritage attractions like the urban parks, the regional parks and the public gardens tends to attract
a lot of domestic and international tourists, hence the government has initiated some of the major
measures for preserving of the natural resources. Some of the measures taken by the government
for the aim of minimizing and eradicating the identified issues stated above are the following
Development and adoption of strategies for the nature based tourism and the recognition
of the fundamental essentiality of the natural resource for sustainability of the eco
tourism
Design and implementation of systems and the process that will not be disadvantageous
to the community people so that the indigenous and the other community people stay at
peace with their own rights
Improvement of the infrastructural facilities so that the travelers do not choose other
options of tourism for travelling (Baghurst et al. 2017)
Investments in the access of necessities and vehicles in the remote villages and natural
resource spot so that the travelers can travel hassle free through out the tourist spots
Introduction of adventurous sports for attracting the teenagers and the university students
for their project so that the industry gets a new and innovative way of earning revenue
Extent of the financial assistance from the banks and other financial institutions to the
development and beatification of the natural resources (Pratt and Harrison 2015)
Improvement of the telecommunication system, the accessibility and the information
technology system for the benefit of the operations within the tourist places

Promotion of ecotourism of Australia on the world wide basis via the social media so that
the world can get to know about the exotic location in the country in the lap of nature.
Establishment of the tourist resorts at strategic locations since proper accommodations
centered with modern amenities are suitable for the stay of the international tourists
Provision of proper security to the tourists (Wearing and Wearing 2016)
Promotion of ecotourism in the context of the waste management, like plastic free tourist
spot, Hi tech pollution control equipment’s so that minimizing of the wastage of the
resources can be achieved.
