INTRODUCTION
 Racehorses are synonymous with the equine
athleticism
 Bred solely for the racing and these horses excel
in several equine endeavours
 The production of the racehorses is done in the
farms where the animals are bred effectively
 The inventory of the racehorses is commonly
spread all through the supply chain and it involves
each aspect of the maintenance of racehorses
 Racehorses are commonly supplied to the clients
using air freights or the ship freights
 The air freight is commonly preferred as it
provides fast transportation of the supplies to the
clients

SHIPPER The main role and responsibilities of the shipper
involved in the supply chain of the racehorses

racehorses, air carrier is commonly
preferred because of the fast delivery
benefit
 As the health of racehorses is the major
concern for the clients, air carrier
provides the means of swift
transportation of the racehorses from
the suppliers to the clients
 Level of security in air carrier is
significantly high and it allows the
secured transportation of the racehorses

ORIGIN FREIGHT FORWARDER

respective countries for ensuring that the
documents and the goods complies with
the customs regulation
 Destination freight forwarder analysis the
warehouses requirements of the products
and plans accordingly for ensuring the
secured storing of the products

ROLE AND RESPOSIBILITIES OF THE
GROUND HANDLER
 Ground handlers are commonly the
employees of the airline airports or
the companies who unloads and loads
the products from the cargo plane
 Primary responsibility of the ground
handlers is the loading and unloading
of the freight from the cargo planes
that arrives at the airports
 In the task of unloading and loading of
the freight, ground handlers are
needed to utilise the equipment for
material handling
 Secured unloading of the cargo from
the planes is tasked to the ground
handlers at the airports

Measurement:
 The horses are shifted in a short and
systematic way, with a feasible and
comfortable environment.
 The horses are taken to the airport in a small
box and then for there they are shifted in an
artificial stable, in the airplane, which is
again a box.
 These, boxes are of a height that can fit an
average heighted horse.
 The airplanes that are made also of average
in size, so that it can fit a maximum number
of 40- 50 horses at once.

CONCLUSION
 It could be concluded that the supply chain of racehorses are growing
in the present times due to the popularity of the game
 Huge number of racehorses are transported among various places
 Air carrier is used for the transportation of the goods from the origin
point to the destination
 Packaging of the racehorses includes the proper packaging of the
horses and ensure that the horses reach the destination in healthy
condition
 Marking and labelling of the horses includes the marking of the

the goods
