Question 6
In most of the organizations, the management applies changes in their projects to ensure they
meet its intended outcomes. Project changes are viewed to be a systematic process of planning,
scheduling and implementations. Project changes demands leadership that can influence and
motivate people. Communication is the key in most changes made in a project. One of the
examples of a change project I have taken part in was promoting staff members based on the
skills and experience in their respective field of specialization. The change that is promoting staff
based on their skills and other academic qualifications was a planned change by the management
body of the organization in conjunction with the human resource management department as an
away to enhance the efficiency of workers within the organization in their respective areas of
work (Harrison and Lock, 2017).
The change has been planned by the entire board of management thus following the rising
cases of incompetency of the staff members as some of them cannot effectively perform their
assigned task though they are heads of department. In most cases, the changes made in projects
are unplanned and will end up causing misunderstanding between the employees and the
management body. The stakeholders are forced to come up with quick ideas for the new project.
Especially when dealing with the promotional process, the organization may be in a financial
crisis and may not reward or promote the employees randomly at the same hence this would
affect the operational activities of the organization based on the employee’s perspectives on the
change (Frijns, et al., 2017).

The behavioral styles which I used in the change process were transformational style.
Transformational leadership entails encouraging, inspiring and motivating process to the
employees by their leader. The objective of this leadership style is to innovate and create change
that will help to grow and shape the future success of the organization (Reunanen and Kaitonen,
2017).
Transformational leadership compromises of the following elements we used as the
management body in managing the organization that is individualized consideration, intellectual
stimulation, inspirational motivation and idealized influence. Under this leadership theory, as
leaders we were expected to work with the team to identify the needed organizational change,
creating a vision for guiding the identified change thus through inspiration and lastly executing
the change.
Based on the change initiative we conducted within the organization, these leadership styles
were appropriate. Transformational leadership can be considered the best leadership style to be
adopted by the organization. Out of the leadership styles, transformational leadership outstand
the rest due to its qualities and impact it has on the employees and the leader.
Transformational leadership is preferred since it deals with the individualized consideration,
intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation and idealized influence which are bond to
change hence changing with such changes on the employee's traits will ensure effective
leadership within the organization. As leaders of these particular change project, we are required
to participate and analyze the change project to establish genuine personal connections with
other members of the organization since the stakeholders supported the change project by
providing all the resources which might be needed by the project and also gave a clear

expectations for what we need to be done based on the financial requirement of the change
project (Mughal, et al., 2019).
Transformational leadership style advocates for motiving factors to employees. Based on the
change project, we as the change managers are expected to apply transformational style in
finding the best motivating factors for employees which will make them positively respond to the
change project as some of the staff members will not prefer the change project of promoting staff
members based on their academic qualifications since they will be directly affected by the
change, therefore, they will tend to lure other staff to resist the change project on their favor.
Other leadership styles which can be successfully used by the manager in running the
change activities of the organization includes situational leadership style where the leader is
expected to motivate the employees based on their skills, competency and maturity level. Servant
leadership style can only apply in most of the nonprofit organizations like churches where the
leader is expected to serve the believers.
Question 7
Organizational changes deal with the operation methods, technologies and strategies and
happens due to internal or external pressure. The process is only successful if the management
maintains communication with its employees and offer a training program to usher in
organizational changes. The change process may cause anxiety and chaos in the organization
hence the organization should be keen on the replacement process to maintain a corporate culture
and provide qualified personnel (Baldwin, 2016).
Attrition in the managerial staff has an immediate impact on the department whereby staff
members depend on the management for career development and administration purposes. The
process involves structural changes like technologically improving production machines in the
