The community will enjoy an improved flow of traffic on the M1 side of the corridor resulting in a reduction of reliance on West Gate Bridge. Weakness The project improves access to port which is the key objective of the project but only for trucks. It is only available to Swanston Dock, north of Yarra. As per best practices in Green Book (five case model) fifty per cent of the container moves by using rail but here only nine per cent is seen. West gate tunnel come up with huge number of drawbacks and hazards. It merely focus on the point that there is increase in air and noise pollution for the local residents.
