2 MANAGEMENT Question No 1. Describe a paradigm shift that you have experienced in your life. Answer to Question No 1. According to Covey, paradigm shift is to see a particular picture in totally a different manner. I am quite sure that each and every individual have experienced a paradigm shift in their lives like me. The most important as well as the most influential one that still strike chords in my memory is the time when I first moved out of my native place and went to the United States in search of employment options. My first task on landing in USA was to search for an appropriate place to accommodate myself. I also had an unique target of finding a roommate for me in a PG as because I had a clear idea of the cost of leading a life in an American PG. However my parents were not too comfortable with the idea of me staying with totally a stranger. They were also concerned about my safety in the states after the incident of 9/11. But, given the idea that my parents wanted me to be independent during my higher studies made them stick to my decision of moving out. As days passed by I slowly got acquainted to my routine in my new country and rarely got time to contact my parents. A new group of friends, new college, new lifestyle totally changed me and I slowly got mentally separated from my family. However, after around one and a half year one of my relatives told me and made me realize about my change. I admitted the same and felt ashamed on my behavior. It is always hard for someone to stay separated from the other after passing a long time with him. This shift will be always remembered by me as I have changed myself again and have become more of a family man now.
