Reflective Report on Conducting an Interview and Improving Communication Skills

This reflective report discusses the experience of mine at the time of conducting the interview. It also discusses the activities that I did before the interview. This reflective also discuss my strengths as well as weakness that I observed from the interview. In last, it discusses some recommendation that is used by me to improve my weakness.

Reflective report
Introduction
This report discusses the experience of mine at the time of conducting the interview.
It also discusses the activities that I did before the interview. This reflective also discuss my
strengths as well as weakness that I observed from the interview. In last, it discusses some
recommendation that is used by me to improve my weakness.
Before starting the interview, I deeply evaluate what I will consider in the interview.
Whenever I think about the word of interview as it creates a series of questions in my mind. It
reflects the overall performance of outcome. I deeply evaluate the question and methods that
have been considered in the interview. For completing this interview method, I used the semi-
structured method because it would be effective in conducting formal communication with
interviewee. This method because of collecting actual data towards the specific concern in
depth. The main reason for selecting semi-structured interviews is to prepare the
questionnaire ahead of time. This method enabled to be made as well as appear competent at
the time of interview. This method could also permit to both interviewers as well as
interviewee to express their feeling towards the attainment of the organizational task. This
reflective demonstrate strengths as well as weakness of mine. I understand how I react on
someone at the time of communication that is a great thing for making the effective
communication.
From the last interview, I understood many things that supported to comprehend what
I needed to improve in myself and what is my positive sites. Before conducting this
interview, I increased my understanding of interview skills that supported to conduct an
effective interview skill could be imperative in making a stress-free interview. I analyzed that
I have effective communication skills that mandate me to effectively converse with others
that could be imperative for making purposeful communication. It is also evaluated that

communication skills could allow an individual to reach a favorable conclusion in a
meaningful way (Bryman, 2016). It is observed that an individual should have
communication skills due to meeting their task in minimum.
Due to having effective communication skills, I was able to directly convey my
message to others as it would be effective for maintaining a long-term relationship with
others. Moreover, I also analyzed that interviewee, as well as I, have communication skills
that facilitate to me get real responses of the participants. From the application of the
interview method, it is observed that how many people gave value to hospitality services. I
observed that participants were given value to the accommodation due to increasing the
awareness about it. I also understood how much basic adequate is essential in their daily
routine (Denscombe, 2014). I observed that interviewee has a basis antiquates that influence
me to conduct an interactive interview. Interviewee, as well as me, was talkative that provide
an opportunity to deeply understand the actual data towards concern.
By conducting an interview, sometimes, the interviewee unable to understand what I
expect to him as it demonstrated that I unable to express my actual thought in front of others.
From the interview, I also observed that the interviewee is quite complicated in nature as he
likes to interact with a person can but he did not expect as anyone uses loo and bedroom of
person. He gives value to hygienic as it is effective for the health of the person.
Before the interview, I increased my knowledge about communication, interpersonal, and
relationship management, and time management skills. It will also be supported to get a
positive result in favor of a particular situation. Moreover, I observed that these skills are
required at the time of conducting the interview.
I read many articles and books for improving my skill before the interview. I attended
any class, wherein I gained my knowledge about some certain skills which are essential for
an individual to conduct the study and supported to get a positive response. I observed that

coordination is a major factor that affected the overall outcome. The coordination could be
supported to enhance effectiveness (Silverman, 2016). Coordination could support to
enhance operational effectiveness by eliminating the overlapping efforts as well as work
duplication. From this, it individual efforts balancing as well as integration could support to
make harmonious teamwork.
The coordination is a creative method that could support to make probable a total
outcome that is greater than a total of people achievements. It could also reflect overall
productivity of the organization or activity (Lune, & Berg, 2016). This activity could also
facilitate to the company to meet the optimum use of their resources. It is illustrated that the
organized success endeavor could be depended upon the coordination quality. It is also
illustrated that coordination is the first imperative aspect of doing any activity as it
demonstrates the organization principles. Coordination quality is an imperative component of
organization survival (Eriksson & Kovalainen, 2015).
I also increased my depth information about the steps of an interview that is
imperative to effectively conduct this study. I also increased my depth information about this
too which mandate to meet the organizational task. Through this, I improved my operation
efficiency that could coordinate to enhance the morale of a person who is involved in
business activities. This skill could enable to get a positive result in the context of the
particular decision. From the application of this tool, I observed that the depth understanding
about many skills of leadership that could enable to meet the organizational purpose
(Berkman, Kawachi, & Glymour, 2014). It could enhance the commitment level as it would
be vital in taking the decision towards particular area. I also analyzed that by considering the
coordination skills I was able to effectively manage the activities in the procedure of
management. I will be able to take positive responses in favour of organizational task.
Moreover, the coordination act could allow an individual to make the decision in favor of

specific situation. This activity could serve as the management all managerial activity. It is
also illustrated that the coordination skill of an individual could facilitate to manage many
activities that are associated with inter-relating, inter-locking, and so linking. It would allow
getting higher competitive benefits. It could support to make higher competitive advantages
(Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon, 2014).
Coordination helps to ensure unity of action in the face of disruptive forces (Hughes
& Sharrock, 2016). By welding together different departments and sections into one entity,
coordination ensures the stability and growth of an organization. It enables the executives to
see the enterprise as a whole instead of narrow sectional goals. Individual interests are sub-
ordinated to the common interest more easily and effectively (Taylor, Bogdan, & DeVault,
2015). I have observed different factors that affect the interview. In this way, I have learned
that the company should not discuss the emotions. I have pointed out that interviewer should
not get too personal while elaborating challenges with the job interview.
The interviewer should use professional discretion for describing the challenges
without moving into detail regarding emotions or drama. For instance, if asked for discussing
the challenges with customers, interviewers should illustrate constructively handled the
comprehension. It is observed that interviewers should not talk regarding anger and fear
(Walliman, 2015). I read many books wherein I understood many essential things that are
essential for an individual. From the review, I understood that at the point of an interviewee
complains or special case to inquiries posed about their procedure, this is on the grounds that
they trust it's not to their greatest advantage. For instance, if an interviewee imagines that the
procedure improvement exertion is tied in with scaling back and it isn't, at that point you
should present a defense for why the venture is fundamental to them, the client and the
organization (O'Connor, 2015).

I have increased my learning that an interviewer should be honest while describing
the challenges however be brief related to their answer. I have also increased my
understanding that interviewer should not spend longer time for presenting the complexity. It
is also identified that an interviewer should briefly address how an interviewee dealt with it
as well as, what you learned through it. I have also increased my learning that interviewers
should not talk regarding extreme college, which is ended in disaster hence it should choose
challenges that have demonstrated learning opportunities.
I also analyzed that effective communication could play a huge number of
organizational success. I also analyzed that diverse person, as well as departments, could
working about the common purpose as it provides different advantages to support and keep
synchronized as well as integrated efforts. In this, it is evaluated that the importance as well
as limitation of coordination management (Shipman, 2014).
It is examined that each large company has a larger number of workforces as
everyone have a different opinion towards any concern (Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon, 2014).
Thus, it is also founded that the interviewee has to deal with different kinds of person as it
supported to get favourable result. It would also facilitate to effectively conduct this study.
Therefore, the interviewee should be aware of the different culture of people. It could enable
the interviewer to make reliable information to the interviewee (Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon,
2014).
Moreover, a company requisites to integrate skills as well as efforts of the diverse
workforce with respect to accomplishing the common purpose (Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon,
2014). In addition, it is addressed that communication skills could also be essential for getting
higher competitive advantages. Teamwork could produce better result hence these skills
could be supported to a positive result. It is examined that when team group function
effectively operates the business performance. It could allow the organization to make a

reliable conclusion. I also increased my understanding of the best quality management skills
could permit the interviewer to deeply evaluate the thinking of the next persona and behave
accordingly (Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon, 2014).
At the time of conducting the interview, I was not fully confident to ask about some
questions to the interviewee that affects to assess the behavior of interviewee towards the
actual incident. I observed that the interviewee has a lack of emotional intelligence that’s why
she did not emotionally react on the front of others. She overreacts on some questions before
understanding what I tried to ask. It will also affect the overall performance of any specific
act. Moreover, the lack of emotional intelligence skills create problem for me as well as
create fear in me as how I explain what exactly I expect to her.
It is also addressed that I asked real-life example to the interview but it was quite
typical. I observed that the interviewee reaction should be real and frank due to getting a
reliable outcome. I met to tutor and comprehend different approaches that enable to get a
favorable outcome. It is examined that family and friends could be nearest of mine as their
support to me to change my communication and emotional intelligence skills due to making
the positive relationship with others (Doherty, Haugh, & Lyon, 2014).
I also decided 6 months of the time period for improving my weakness that is
associated with suddenly reacting on the opinion of others and communication skills for the
long term. For mitigating these issues, I will use emotional intelligence theory of Goleman as
it supports to control the emotion of an individual. I will read many books, articles, and
improve my communication skills due to meeting my purpose. It will permit me to increase
my existing knowledge about the methods that have been considered to improve my
personality which would lead to increase my confidence level.

On the basis of the whole discussion, it can be concluded that the semi-structured
interview method is vital in collecting feasible information towards the research issue. It can
also be summarized that the Goleman emotional intelligence theory is used by me to take
control of my emotions in the upcoming time period.
