INTRODUCTIONManagement skills are the most important aspect of any workplace for efficient workingand managing people. For getting the better understanding of management skills, the report willtake Warwick council to understand the importance of diversity and different managementmodels for decision making and motivation.MAIN BODY1. Importance of effective management skills in the councilWarwick council is local government council which has its headquarters in LeamingtonSpa. Each place need management that is efficient to carry on smooth operations and same is thecase with Warwick council. The management need skills to maintain discipline and workenvironment in the council among its members. There are different types of skills which arerequired by the council and by developing the skills the benefit that the council will get is alsomentioned below. Conceptual skills – The management of Warwick council requires ability to visualise theorganisation as whole. The management if have conceptual skills will help the council inidentifying the cause of problem and will improve creative as well as initiative skills. This skillhelps the managers to plan goals for every situation and help them fighting with uncertainties.Conceptual skills are related to brain and gives basic understanding to the managers tounderstand issues of the council. It helps the management to work with concept and ideas withlogical thinking (Noe and et.al., 2017). To develop conceptual skills managers can closelyobserve the leaders of the council and can see and learn from them that how they tackle thesituation based on rationality. This will benefit the council by reducing biases, confusion andchaos. The other way to develop conceptual skills is to identify issues in the council and try tosolve them as case studies, it will benefit the council, as there will not be fights and argumentsbetween the members if issues will be addressed by the management in the initial stage. Themanager can also attend various seminars and training development programmes to increase itscommunication skills, decision making and conceptual development which will benefit thecouncil in increasing cooperation among the members and for carrying smooth operations of thecouncil.
