IntroductionManagement is defined as an activity which includes managing people or operationswithin an enterprise. It is also considered as an act of getting thing done through others. Inpresent scenario, due to increase in competition and continuous changing environment ,managing the business or activities has become necessary. As an effective managementsystem drive firm towards accomplishment of objectives and achievement of success.The objective of report is to understand the concept as well as importance ofmanagement system in context of Hilton Hotel. Project will include the description about thesome management style. It will also have focus on identifying the qualities of an effectiveleader.TASK 11.1 Comparing different management stylesA) Defining managementManagement is defined as the procedure of controlling the things , operations oractivities of people act workplace. In addition to this process also includes planning,organising , direct and controlling the business functions. Management also involves thecoordination of activities in order to drive firm towards achievement of business goals ortargets. It consists of interconnectedfunctions of formulating corporate policy andorganizing, planning, controlling, as well as directing a business resource in order to achievethe desired goals.B) Comparing the different management stylesAutocratic management style;Define:The leaders with this type of management style are also recognised asauthoritarianleadership. Autocratic management is defined as is a leadership style in which a leader hascontrol on their decisions. Leaders or manager with this type of management style believe inmaking their own decision which is based on their own ideas and views. Democratic management style:Define :In this type of management style, leaders allows their subordinates to participate indecision making process. Democratic management style involves extensive communicationwhich flows in both directions that is from leaders to subordinates and vice Versa.AdvantagesHigh level of motivation and job satisfaction in workers.This management style allows leaders to identify the innovative ideas for resolvingseveral problems.It also allows leader to develop as well as maintain creative environment.DisadvantagesTime consumingDelay in decision making processProblems related to accountability.Laissez Faire management styleDefine:Laissez Faire management styles is defined as a leadership styles which is adopted bythe leaders those who have unwillingness to participate in business activities.
