Table 1: aspects of cost and time
The above table demonstrates the total time and total cost consumed to complete the procedure
of the survey, which consists of on-site surveys in which thousands of employees of Sainsbury’s
has been investigated. The table also consists of survey conducted via emails, conferences and
phone calls. The researcher also carried out personal or face to face interviews with 3 HR
managers of Sainsbury’s that turned out to be helpful for the researcher to accumulate
information about the company. It also helped the researcher to get a rough idea about how much
time and cost it consumes to implement finger print scanner technology and its influence on the
business organization.
Scope of the project management plan:
Scope of the project plan reflects the chances or opportunities and the effectiveness of the
business plan. The scope of the project management plan can be categorized in two types
included scope and excluded scopes are mentioned below:
Included scope: Included scope is the scope that is included within the project of business
management plan. Included scope helps the researcher to identify and analyze the amount of

print technology in company is high. Respondents feel that the system of finger print technology
would consume less time in comparison to the register maintaining method. Finger print
technology would help to restrict any outsiders from entering the company premises. If the finger
print of an employee does not match with the device recorded finger print, then the employee
will not be allowed to enter the premise. None of the employees have refused the use of finger
print technology. All the employees have the sense of security with the new technology. The
number of respondents agreeing with this technique is 50, thereby interpreting these employees
strongly agrees with the use of finger print technology. However, there are still few employees,
disagreeing with the finger print technology as sometimes the employees in a rush doesn’t have
the time to wait for the access.

Findings and Analysis:
From the research, it can be seen that error in the biometric has been a major issue in most of the
companies. The mechanisms sometimes malfunction operating in the company. It can happen
often as electric devises are prone to malfunction. The configurations sometimes does not
resemble with the finger print of the employees. Many employees face this issue and as a
consequence they prefer maintaining records in the register. Biometric configuration is important
for maintaining records of the attendance of the employees. Detecting the finger print consumes
time for some employees, which increases their level of frustration. Personal information is
secured with the biometric access.

Findings and Analysis:
From the research, it can be analyzed that majority of the respondents prefer to give training and
development in the finger print technology. Training will help to understand the installation of
the biometric. Training can be offered with the help of online, in-house training courses. It is
essential to learn the installation process as it helps in recording the attendance of the employees.
Time management is possible with the help of biometric installation in every company.
Biometric devise helps to maintain the compliance with the data protection act. The quality of
the biometric must be high like the time screening in the display of the biometric, the detecting
mechanism must be aptly installed and in a proper manner.
Qualitative Analysis
Q1: Has the implementation of the finger print technology enhanced the activities of the
human resource department?
Manager 1: As per the views of the first manager interviewed, it was ascertained that the finger
print scanner did help the human resource department ion their activities. The use of the latest
18
Document Page
technology to keep a record of the employee attendance reduced the manual labor used before.
The chances of errors also reduced hence, helping in raising the efficiency levels.
Manager 2: As per the views of the second manager interviewed, it was observed that biometric
devise does not sometimes give the correct figure of the number of employees present in the
company per day. With the help of technology, some have the accessibility to make use of the
biometric attendance from mobile. This creates a negative impact on the company. Employees
may not be present in the office during the course of work, but attendance can be found to be
present. This is because of the mobile biometric scanner.
Manager 3: As per the views of the third manager, it was observed that biometric device has
contributed in saving time for the employees. Instead of wasting time in filling each detail like
the employee code, the date, the time of entry and exit, biometric devise helps to consume less
time just by quick scanning of the finger print. However, there are issues like malfunction of the
biometric scanner, incorrect time may mislead the employees and maintenance of records
becomes difficult for the HR to view.
Q2: Have you encountered any issues post the implementation and use of finger print scanner.
Please elaborate.
Manager 1: Post implementation of the biometric some issues have been observed among the
employees. Quality of the biometric sometimes leads to issues like incorrect timing, problem in
the detection of the fingerprint.
Manager 2: It has been observed that many employees are not satisfied with the implementation
of the finger print scanner. Waiting in the cue for long in the rush hour disturbs the employees by
creating frustration. Employee’s dissatisfaction has been a result of the failure in the detection of
the fingerprint.
Manager 3: It has been observed that issues have arise like wrong time showing in the screen,
missing of the employees finger print detection although the employee have been found present.
If the employee by mistake press on the time out button instead of time in then it cannot be
reverted back. A second delay in the finger print scanning can make the employees absent from
the company as per the record seen in the biometric configuration.

Q3: How do you think, the issues faced can be dealt with?
Manager 1: As per the issues faced by the organization, alternative ways can be suggested for
maintaining the record of the employees. Register book should be provided for the employees, if
the detection of the finger print is a issue on a regular basis.
Manager 2: The quality of the finger print scanner has to be upgraded and maintained regularly
to keep the record of the employees. Employees facing issues like incorrect timing displaying in
the screen should be informed to the Hr immediately.
Manager 3: The biometric operation should be maintained at the time of entry and exit. If any
employee faces issues in the detection of the finger print then the employee should have the
facility to maintain the attendance in the attendance log book of the employees.
P6 Communicate appropriate recommendations as a result of research and data analysis to
draw valid and meaningful conclusions.
From the research and analysis, it is observed that finger print scanner is useful for maintaining
records of the employees in the organization. However, there are issues with the finger print
technology in many organizations and many employees are satisfied with the scanner system.
Before installing the finger print scanner, the mechanisms of the devise has to be properly
installed with time, date and detection mechanism. In many scenarios, companies provide
register book to the employees in case the cue is long in the rush hours of the office timing. If the
finger print scanner does not function or shows incorrect timing in the display, it has to be
immediately reported to the HR department. Research shows that employees are satisfied with
the system of finger print scanner but due to some failures in the system, dissatisfaction
generates among them. Lack of accuracy has been observed in the analysis. Personal information
of the employees is protected with the implementation of finger print scanner.

focused on planning of the budget. I have properly approximated and planned the budget taking
into consideration the cost it could take to conduct the entire research work. At last, I was really
satisfied due to the fact that everything went as per my planned budget to conduct the research
work.
What I need to do to develop further in this area: According to me, I feel there is a huge scope
for improvement in this area. I have to read more books on accounts and finance management to
properly plan the budget for my next research and this is the sole reason I need to develop further
in this area.
