INTRODUCTION
Technological advancements are the emerging changes that are coming in the
environment. There are various types of new technologies that are entering in the business world
because of which all the work is performed in an easy manner. Digital technology is having a
huge impact on the business activities as they are making work easy and reliable. There are
various new technologies that are introduced in the environment that can be used by companies
so as to improve their business operations and store the important data (Ahmed Dine Rabeh,
Jimenez-Jimenez and Martínez-Costa, 2013). It is an effective process which should be adopted
by all the companies if they want to grow in market. The firm that will be referred here is Ore. It
is a company that is providing reception services to the small business enterprises . But now
since digital technology is influencing the public much that company have also decided to enter
the digital market. The report will cover the aim and objectives of research, a project
management plan, Gantt chart and research methodology, data analysis so as to understand the
reviews of people.
TASK 1
P1. Research aim and objectives
In today's business environment , digital technology is growing at a very fast speed. It has
become compulsory for all the companies to use these technologies on their business operations .
These business technology is only helping them and will not do any kind of harm . It can be used
by them in various ways like for storing data, for conducting different activities in a simple way.
It is a very time saving technique which will finish an activity in very less time. Digital
technology is bringing a modern development in the economy because now companies that were
using old traditional techniques are now shifting to this digital technology method. This always
has a positive impact in the company and as thy are vary helpful in taking decisions for the
company (Chesbrough, 2010Crane and Matten, 2016). If this will be used by the small business
of the country then it will be very good for them as they will get more innovative tools and
techniques to bring growth and development in them faster. In case of Ore, they have entered the
market few years back only and are serving worldwide now. They are having 95 employees
and $ 7.8 million dollar turnover. They have a strong customers base and therefore company
is planning to enter into the digital market so as to reach the customers all over. Through this
they will be able to reach at that places also where they are not having any store.

This will be very helpful for the cited company as through this they will; be able to
increase the profits of the company and also the productivity. But the competition will also be
very strong for the company so they have to be prepared for this and enter this sector by doing
good research only (Den Hertog, Van der Aa and De Jong, 2010).

case study on Ore.
Background of study
Since so many advancements are taking in the current business environment so, it has
become compulsory for companies to bring changes accordingly. It will bring more effectiveness
in company than it was having before. This will be of great help for all the departments as there
are many types of software that are designed for each and every department and there is no need
for them to depend on the IT department.
Aim: - To implement the digital technology in the company so as to achieve growth and
innovation- A case study on Ore.
Objectives
 To identify the impact of digital technology in economy
 To evaluate how digital technology is impacting small business and innovation
 To access the importance of digital technology in bringing growth and innovation in Ore

P2. Project management plan
If a company is doing a project then it is very essential for them to make a project
management plan as it will help them in conducting all the activities in an adequate manner. This
wilt help the company in making the project successful and can be carry out for long term also
(Eckerson, 2010). For this, the company needs to identify the risk , coast, quality, time and scope
attached to it. All these elements will be very helpful in managing the whole project successfully.
Since Ore is planning to enter into the online market also so they need to make a plan in which
all these elements will be covered . They are described in detail below:-

 Managing the Risk – here, the risk attached to it is not very high because Ore is a
popular brand in the market and they are have made a loyal customers base also . So they
only have to give attention to the little risk that is attached with the competitors present in
the market (Gebauer, Edvardsson and Bjurko, 2010).
 Scope – the project scope nature is high because digital market is having lots of
opportunities in them where a company can grow in market by using these digital
technologies. This will help them in conducting business all over the world.
 Cost – Cost estimated with this project is very high as there are lots of activities that will
be conducted in this project and it will include some cost with them.
 Quality Control- Ore is a good brand that is maintaining their quality since starting.
Their customers are generally of all class so they have to provide good quality only. This
will also help in attracting more and more customers and increasing the sales of the
company.
 Time – There is fox time allotted to complete a particular activity in the company , so
management of the company should try to complete the activities in the given time period
so that effective results can be achieved.
 Communication – There should be good communication in company so that employees
will be able to communicate with the upper level of management easily. Through this,
information will be shared easily.
P3 Gantt chart and breakdown structure
If the company is doing any research, then it is very important for them to take reviews of
the people who have used the products of the company earlier. It is very necessary for them as it
will help them in knowing the actual reactions of the customers and will help them in planning as
well (Gebauer, Edvardsson and Bjurko, 2010). For this, companies will make an action plan in
which they will include all the activities which will be conducted in the project and it will also
include the time frame that is attached with it as well. A perfect study should be conducted by
the companies before starting work in he project. The following steps are required to be
conducted in a research:-
 Identify the problem
 Review the literature
 Clarify the problem

 Clearly define the terms and concepts
 Define the population
 Collecting data
 Analysing data
 Conclusion and recommendation
 Submission of report
Since the whole project is based on digital technology so the companies should make use
of all the activities that are mentioned above. Since Ore is planning to enter the digital market so
public opinion is very important for them to know that whether they will be accepted by them or
not (Incelli, 2013). This will be treated as a problem for them and then on this reviews of famous
authors and experts are taken. It will help the company in knowing the impact they will have in
the market. After conducting all such work, a sample population will be selected by the company
whose reviews will be taken by the company . In this project, 20 respondents will be chosen by
the management of the company. All these respondents will be asked few questions on Ore
entering the digital market. Their reviews will be analysed carefully and then only decision will
be taken.

Ore have to follow this action plan so that they are working in a right direction . It will be very
helpful in developing the business of Ore in market. Thus will be very helpful to the top level
management in taking decisions regarding the company and the project.

P4 Application of qualitative and quantitative research methods
There is always a method that is required by the researcher to conduct the research in an
effective manner. This will help them in getting good and effective outcomes. Through these
methods the research can be converted into an analytical one through which he decision making
process of the company is made easy (Jones and Lubinski, 2012). There are two main types of
data tools which helps the investigator in gathering the information -
 Primary Data
 Secondary data

Both these methods are very much helpful in gathering information which is very
important for the researcher for implementing the activities. Ore is using both these techniques
so as to collect their data. Digital technology is also helping them in collecting the information in
an easy way since there are lot of data available on internet which could be useful; for the
investigator. This data will be counted under secondary data. Various methods that are used by
the company at the time of research are -

 Analytical
The tools of collecting data are described as under -
 Primary data - It is that type of data that is collected by the researcher themselves. This
is the first hand data which his specially collected to complete a particular research. It is
highly reliable as it is been collected by the investigator himself (Kankaanranta and
Planken, 2010). So, for collecting the data, Ore will design a questionnaire in which here
will be 10 questions that will be asked to the sample respondents chosen.

 Secondary data – It is that data which is not collected by the company themselves. It is
the second hand data that has been used already by other companies. It can not be trusted
totally as it is not being collected by the investigator themselves (Lai and Ong, 2010).
In this , methods which can be used are like – journals, books, articles, newsletters etc.
The case studies that are prepared for them are -
 Case study 1 – Ore can introduce new technologies in their watches which can be called
as smart watches. It will give more option to the customers and will also help in
increasing the quality of products as well.
 Case study 2 – Ore should introduce a new range of watches for the middle class people
because they are generally serving people who are of high class. But when they will enter
the online market , there they will get all type of customers so the company should make
products for all.

P5 Analyse data and research
It is very crucial for the project manager to analyse the data that has been collected by
them through the respondents. Because of this, Ore will be able to understand what the
customers thinks of themselves (Lin and Chen, 2012). Since 20 respondents are chosen by the
company so reviews of all 20 people are very important. After collecting the data, it will now be
analysed further. The data analysis is done below:-

P6 Appropriate recommendations and valid conclusions
Since Ore is a well known watch brand so there is no need for them to bring so many
changes. They are successful in market because they are serving good quality products , giving
good services to them and making effective strategies to grow the business. But now, since the
company is entering the online sector so a new strategy is required to be built by the
management of the company so as to become successful here also. They have to recruit those
employees who have experience of working in a e-commerce company. Few of the
recommendations are as follows:-
 The manager if the project should make sure that the activities are conducted as per the
time allotted to them and here should be any delay in performing.
 Managers should know that the employees are having good knowledge about how to use
digital technologies and if they don't know then training should be provided to them.

P7 Reflection on value of undertakings on research
When a research is conducted in a company , it comes with various problems with them.
It is the responsibility of management of company to make sure that all the activities are
conducted in an efficient manner and no mistake is conducted by the investigator while
conducting the research. Management of the company should appoint an efficient project
manager in the company to handle all these kinds of projects . They will play a very crucial role
in handling all such activities and managing the whole project department as well. I was the
project manager of Ore who was given the responsibility to handle this while project. I faced
many difficulties but in overcame it as I was having a good action plan in which what activity
will be performed first and which will be performed last was mentioned along with the time
taken to complete them. The difficult that I faced was completing the task in the given time
period and the cost allotted to them as well . I believe they were low and should have been
allotted little more.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that digital technology is having a positive
impact on the growth and development of small and medium enterprises. It helps them in
working effectively . Here, in this report, a case study is conducted on Ore. It is a new watch
brand which is entering online market. A proper research has been conducted in this report so as
to know that whether masses will accept them in this manner or not. Various tools are used by
company to measure the results and then taking beneficial decision for them.
