This study analyzes how the company's policies for equality and diversity translate into an employee's day to day activities. The research is conducted on CommuterClub Company to develop a better understanding of various crucial concepts associated with equality and diversity at the workplace.

translate into an employee’s day to day activities”. A study on CommuterClub
Company.
INTRODUCTION
Management and organisation of a business project is essential as well as vital as it lead
to a crucial role in success and development of an organisation. It also require many skills and
competencies in order to develop effective knowledge and understanding about a business
project so that best possible decisions and conclusion can be made for betterment of an
organisation (Abdullah and Foo, 2019). The small company selected for this assignment is
CommuterClub company which is a UK based financial services company that is employing
around 10-50 employees and headquartered in London, England. This report includes a
discussion about the well established research aims, main objectives and associated timeframes
that are based on the above stated theme and topic. Beside this, a limited scale research is also
made that includes gathering and collection of data to bring forth knowledge in order to support
the current project. Finally, presentation of research findings together with meaningful
conclusion and recommendations are also their along with reflection.
Task 1- Project planning
P1) Aim and objectives for the project
The crucial phenomenon of equality is mainly associated with providing a sense of fairness and
equal opportunity and same working environment to all employees at workplace while diversity
is associated with eliminating the differences and chaos among people coming from various
background and culture in order to place positive value in these differences (zum Felde, 2019).
Highly level of favouritism and high level of biasness at workplace impede business growth and
productivity thus, it become necessary for organisation like CommuterClub to effectively do
supervision and manage equality and diversity at its place of work to improve and enhance its
productivity, opportunity and competitiveness. Therefore, following research is conducted on
CommuterClub Company to develop better understanding about various crucial concepts
associated with equality and diversity at workplace.
Aim

The aim of this research project is, “To evaluate that how the various policies and
strategise formulated by companies for equality and diversity translate and impact the day to day
activities of employees at workplace”.
Objective
The main objective behind this research work conducted on CommuterClub company are
as follows:
 To develop better understanding about the various aspects of equality and diversity.
 To evaluate the possible policies and strategies formed by CommuterClub to support
equality and diversity in the workplace (Rachlin, 2019). To indentify the positive impacts and ways in which management of equality and
diversity translate and influence the activities and working of employees at workplace of
CommuterClub Company.

P2) Project management plan
It is basically a detailed comprehensively under written document that consists of various aspects
and important elements of a research work that require proper planning to meet the objectives in
an efficient and effective way (Polonsky and Waller, 2018) . Following project management plan
are made for current investigation to accomplish and achieve objective on set time and in a more
effective manner.
Scope- This factor of project describes the area and subject matter of a research or project
together with its relevance. The scope of current research project is quite wide as it deals with
the policies and ways through which equality and diversity has created positive transformation
in activities and performance of employees. In order to keep the scope and relevance of this
research work use of best strategies and methodologies are made by investigator.

Cost- This factor represents the sum total of all the expenses incurred and made by an
investigator to complete a research in a most effective way. For the purpose of this research
project information about amount of expenses and expected cost together with its bifurcation in
various heads is provided below:

Therefore, the total estimated cost and other expenses of this project for is estimated around £

Quality- This element of management plan is basically combined and deals along the viability
and authenticity of gathered data that reflects the overall quality and significance of the
investigation (Allaoui, Bourgault and Pellerin, 2019). In order to keep and maintain quality of
data that is concerned with current research work use of most suitable research methodology is
made together with using a combination of both primary and secondary data to collect data.
Time- It basically represent the total time required to effectively perform and carried out
various activities of an investigation. The estimated duration required for current research work
and investigation is 3-4 months.
Resource- It reflects the various assets and commodities used in a research work to
accomplish the investigation in best possible. This component of management plan is related
with optimum and most efficient use of resources (Buttrick, 2018). The various assets and
resources used for this resrch consist of effective and financial resources, skilled manpower, and
other technical and statistical resources and methods.
Risk- Various issues and threats are also associated with a research work which are
reflected under this head of project management plan. The various risk and threats that are
expected to hinder efficiency and performance of current research work includes lack of
sufficient amount of resources as well as limited time duration to perform various activities.

Communication- It most crucial aspect of any research on which the overall success and
efficiency of an investigation is depend. To ensure proper communication and sharing of
information and research findings with stakeholder’s use of official notice board and e- mails are
made. Beside this, both formal and informal modes of communication are used to remove
chances of chaos and confusion among team members while performing the research activity.
P3) Work breakdown structure and Gantt chart
Work breakdown structure
This statistical tool is used by a researcher to ensure proper bifurcation of complex work
and task of research into small and manageable chunks and group in order to maintain viability
and efficiency of research (Christian, 2019). Use of work break down structure also remove the
chances of confusion and chaos among teams through properly defining the role and
responsibilities of each individual thus, also facilitates more optimum use of research assets and
resources.
Gantt chart
It is also a crucial time management and statistical technique that brings clarity and
transparency in research work through systematically presenting all the research work in a proper
sequence with their respective timeframes (Gechman, 2019). Thus, use of Gantt chart avoids
overlapping of work and ensures timely achievement of objective through meeting various stages
of completion and timeframes of all activities and task.

P4) Research methodology
It is basically reflects a set or collection of various research methods and tools that are used
by an investigator to collect authentic and reliable data for purpose of research together with its
effective and better presentation that facilitates and ensure better understanding and decision
making on the basis of research findings (Iacobucci and Rosa, 2019). A description and
discussion about methods of research used in order to perform current investigation is provided
below:
Research method
Out of the two important research methods i.e. qualitative and quantitative method of
research use of quantitative method of research is made. The justification for selection of
quantitative research method is that it facilitates collection of research data in numeric terms
while qualitative resrch is associated with detailed and in-depth collection of data that is more
multifaceted and more time consuming (Kerzner, 2019). Thus, selection of quantitative method

of research for current investigation is justifiable as it facilitates efficiency in work together with
more effective and better presentation of research findings in form of charts and frequency table.
Sources of data collection
Their are two main sources of data that are treated as main origin of information from
where information can be gathered for a research i.e primary sources along with the other
secondary sources of data. For current investigation use of primary as well as secondary sources
of data collection has been used. The purpose behind using primary data is that it facilitates
collection latest and authentic information directly from the communicator thus, ensures
authenticity and reliability of collected data (Peters, Stanko and Merrett, 2019). On the other
hand, secondary sources provide evaluation of past facts and records in order to support primary
finding and also facilitates proper base for investigation.
Sampling
It is method that ensures optimum use of resources and timely completion of work
through limiting the number of respondents for collection of data (Abdullah and Foo, 2019).
Thus, it is a process that is associated with selection of pre determined number of respondents
and individuals from a large number of populations thus, lead to more effective investigation.
Use of probability sampling is made for current investigation as it removes the chances of
favouritism and biasness from resrch work. A sample size from is taken from a larger population
of employees that consist of only 20 respondents among the employees of CommuterClub is
selected for this research work through using random sampling method.
For collection of primary data for this project work use of survey method of quantitative
resrch is used where data is collected with the help of questionnaire.
Questionnaire- It is commonly a written document used for collection of data in survey method
that consists a set of questions in order to evaluate and analysis the opinion of respondents in
more effective way (zum Felde, 2019).

workplace of CommuterClub Company while 6 respondents are seen in favour of enhancement
of productivity. Furthermore, 7 respondents are also in support of increase in creativity as a
positive influence of equality and diversity in order to translate and influence the activities and
working of employees at workplace of CommuterClub Company.

respondents adoption of participative management is a strategy that can be adopted by
CommuterClub to support and have better approaches to Equality and Diversity in their
workplace while 10 respondents are in favour of Effective communication and cultural training.
Apart from this, 6 more respondents are in favour of unbiased HR practises to support and have
better approaches to Equality and Diversity in their workplace.
P6) Recommendations
In accordance and with respect to the above evaluation of above findings of research it can
be concluded that policies of company for equality and diversity plays a crucial role in
translating into an employee day to day activities through enhancing their moral and creativity
level. Below stated recommendations can be made for CommuterClub to have better policies in
order to support equality and diversity at their workplace in order to translate and transform more
productivity and efficiency in everyday activities of employees with justification:
 Adoption of unbiased HR practises is recommend for CommuterClub as it reduces the
chances of discrimination at workplace through ensuring fair chances and equal growth
opportunities for all employees. Therefore, unbiased HR practises lead to better support
for equality and diversity and enhance motivation level of employees that ensure
improvement in productivity and efficiency of employees while performing day to day
activities.

 Implementation of effective communication together with participative leadership
approach is also recommended for CommuterClub as it ensures better bonding among
employees that support equality and diversity at workplace. Effective communication and
participative leadership ensures better transfer of information among employees that
eliminates chances of chaos and confusion at workplace thus, facilitates enhancement in
productivity together with better mangent of equality and diversity.
Task 4- Reflective Practice
P7) Reflection
The journey of performing this investigation on phenomenon of equality and diversity is
full of new experience and facilitates better knowledge and understanding for me. A number of
research management plans and diversified research techniques are used by me like WBS and
Gantt chart with motive to accomplish this research in an appropriate manner and to achieve the
desired research objectives on time. A number of obstacles like deficiency of resources and
insufficient time duration are faced by me during this investigation that are timely known and
resolved by me through my analytical and time management skills. Thus, this research worked
well for me and enhanced and improves my communication and interpersonal skills. Therefore,
this resrch work has lead to my overall personal development and opened doors of better
research work and growth opportunity for me in future.
CONCLUSION
With respect to above assignment it could be summarised that timely research and
investigation are required in order to pull off a successful business project that ensure balance
with current concepts of business environment. Supervision of equality and diversity is essential
for an organisation as it facilitates improvement in productivity and creativity of employees and
also leads to improvement in competitive strength and business position of a company. At last, it
can be summarised that adoption of unbiased HR practices and effective communication
channels facilitates better support to equality and diversity and also translate everyday
performance and operations conducted by employees.
