In respect of senior management in many multinational industries around the globe, it can be
discussed that the balance of gender in the senior management is in the proportion of 60:40 for
males and females, respectively. This means that the women in the workforce around the globe
remain under-represented for the higher posts in the organisation. Inspiring the females to reach
at the senior management level positions of the business is been the crucial part for the
management of the organisation as it bring an increased level of diversity in the workforce of the
business. In the airline sector, the women experience same situation when it comes to identify
the employment for the senior management positions. Therefore, in the current situation there is
a grave need for identifying and mentioning the initiatives that can make an increase in the level
of representation of the females in the senior management roles of the airline sector. The current
report makes its efforts in explaining such type of initiatives that can bring diversity in the senior
management practices of the Airline industry with specific references of Wizz Air.

Diversity and Inclusive Initiatives 1
Introduction
As pointed out by Tatli et al., (2015), in order to adhere to the business philosophy of
pursuing the happiness of both the material and the spirit of all employees”, Wizz Air strives to
create a full-fledged personality and characteristics for all employees working in the company. In
recent years, due to globalisation it has become increasingly important for youth with diverse
values to show their talents (Turney, 2017). Under this circumstance, Wizz Air focus to be a
company that recognises diverse values, respects each other, communicates with each other, and
unifies the minds to actively and bravely challenge its higher goals. As pointed out by Starostka,
Tomski and Zawada, (2015), to become a company that is growing and developing in the future,
Wizz Air has to constantly promote the diversity management and inclusive initiatives by
increasing the representation of women in senior management.
As mentioned by Burnard et al. (2018), for the past few years Wizz Air is aiming to
develop a plan for the management of women's enthusiasm and conduct different activities to
promote woman representation. The diversity and inclusion strategy in Wizz Air is necessary to
increase the financial performance, innovation and staff reputation, customer’s motivation and
reputation of an organisation (Leaders, 2016). Currently, inclusion and diversity are considered
as the centre of the global sustainable development agenda. The main purpose of the study is to
promote the representation of women in the senior management of Wizz Air by analysing the
diversity and inclusive initiatives which are necessary to maintain gender balance in workplace

Structure of the Report
The researcher structured the study within five chapters that includes Introduction,
Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussions, and Conclusion and
Recommendations. First chapter is Introduction that presents the overview of the researcher topic
with aims and objectives, research question, project management plan, scope and timeline of the
study. The second chapter is literature review in which the researcher analyses a number of
existing articles and books to investigate the research topic. The third chapter is methodology
and the researcher made use of primary quantitative research method through a questionnaire. In
the fourth chapter researcher presents results and discussion based on the questionnaire survey.
In the end this report concludes the whole study and presents the recommendations to improve
the representation of women in senior management of Wizz Air.

Overview of the Study and Research Questions
Aim
The main aim of the study is to investigate the types of diversity and inclusive initiatives
put in place to improve woman’s representation in senior management roles at Wizz Air.
Objectives
Objectives of the study are following below;
To identify the types of diversity and inclusive initiatives which are essential to undertake
for Wizz Air to enhance the woman’s representation in senior management.
To recommend areas for improvement on the company’s diversity and inclusivity
strategy.
To assess the effectiveness of diversity and inclusivity of the initiatives for women
representation at Wizz Air.
Research Questions
The primary research question is “What are types of diversity and inclusive initiatives
that can increase the representation of woman representation in senior management of Wizz
Air?”
Project Management Plan
The key elements which are analysed in this study are diverse and inclusive initiatives
which are necessary to put in place to improve the representation of woman in senior
management of Wizz Air. The scope of the study was limited to the investigation of woman’s

representation at Wizz Air and the main features which were analysed were diversity and
inclusive initiatives. This project took three months to be completed and started on 2nd September
2019 and ended on 2nd December 2019. There were no funding required for the completion of
this study. In order to properly manage the risks researcher developed a risk register and one of
the potential risks faced by the study was the delayed in schedule. Every developed project for
bringing quality in the organisation also have a vital role in the related study that are been
conducted.
(Source: Leaders, 2016)
Even with such quality measures that are taken towards the project completion, there are certain
risks that are associated with the project performance. These types of project risks can be in
relation of operational risks; market risks; strategic risks; and risks related to external hazards.
These types of risks can have a negative impact on the success of business project (Teuteberg et
al., 2015). With respect to Wizz Air, the risks were based on the operational level that negatively
impacted the overall performance of the organisation. The risks that were faced were accepted as
the organisational challenge and different alternatives were highlighted for resolving the risks. In

this manner, the Wizzair had to chance to develop and implement those strategies that can help
the management of the company in analysing their risks and developing certain alternatives for
resolving the risks in first place (Qazi, et al., 2016).
The only risk that the researcher had foreseen before conducting the research and which
was encountered as a barrier in the study was about gathering relevant secondary evidence on the
case company. The researcher was unable to find any relevant secondary data on Wizz Air, due
to which the deadline of the introductory phase had to be extended. To overcome this issue the
researcher, took help of another researcher who was good with finding relevant secondary
information and with his help the researcher was able to gather relevant secondary information.
Sherif (2018) mentions in his study that while employing the method of the secondary data
collection it is important to ensure the adequacy of data since the data will be relevant for the
study that has been conducted, but not for the study for which the data is being collected.
Furthermore, in some specific research topics, collection of secondary can be difficult.
Risk and issues: The risk which is identified while conducting the research is such that
collecting relevant secondary resource as an evidence for the chosen company. It is so because
researcher was unable to find the relevant secondary information on Wizz Air because of
specified deadline. Therefore, by taking help of friend, it was easy to collect relevant information
for the chosen study.
