INTRODUCTION
Digital technology can be describe as electronic technology that stores, process and
generates information in forms of two ways i.e. positive and negative. Digital technology has
changed or transformed nearly all aspect of modern life. Entertainment, work, travel,
communication and shopping are some of the best fields that have been reformed in actual time
period. It's now rare to evaluate piece of machinery and an electronic device that doesn't
incorporates advanced technology or tool in some way (Amshoff and et. al., 2015). In this report,
digital technology project will be implemented by Continental consulting Limited in order to
update obsolete IT division of organisation. It is a research and business consultancy headed by
Mario Bindas. Artificial intelligence is the chosen digital technology which is important and
beneficial for the company to automate its services. This report is based on different parts
including project aims and objectives and project management plan. Work breakdown Structure
and Gantt chart will also include in this report for identifying time duration of project
completion. There are different tools and techniques of data collections is used such as
qualitative, quantitative, research design etc. that are essential in successfully completing
research activities and carry out appropriate findings.
TASK 1
P1 Analysis of project aims and objectives
Digital technology refer to technological devices that are more faster, compact, lighter
and versatile. Different amounts of data can be stored remotely or locally and moved around
virtually. Even the way data has enlarged to include media such as video, audio, and photos
(Chui, Manyika and Miremadi, 2015). Therefore, digital technology is more essential and
effective for the each and every organisation. It will assist company to communicate all
information about their business to the large number of customers in single time. Digitalisation
play vital role in improving customers experience, productivity and maintaining strong position
of the company at large scale.
Background of the project:
Continental consulting Limited is a given organisation in this project which is a business
and research consultancy firm. It was formulated by the Mario Bindas in London, United
Kingdom. Main business of this organisation is business process Re-engineering and potential
customers considering small and medium manufacturing firm. This enterprise was setup 8 years

ago and the business owner at that period procured the new equipments, information technology
and computerised facilities at that time. Main purpose of this report is to identifying the impact
of artificial intelligence on business growth and innovation. Further, to evaluating the importance
of Artificial intelligence on expansion of business operations and functions at large scale.
Recently business decided to implement Artificial intelligence as a part of digital technology in
their workplace. It is referred as a branch of computer science that motives to develop intelligent
machines (Dirican, 2015). It is an effective way of making a computer-controlled robot and a
software think intelligently or quickly, in the same way the intelligent individual think.
According to the John McCarthy (Father of artificial intelligence), it is the engineering and
science of making intelligent and effective machines, particularly intelligent computer programs
(What is Artificial Intelligence?, 2018). Goals of this technology is to create expert system which
show intelligent behaviour, demonstrate, explain, learn and advise its users. Another objectives
of this technology is to implement individual intelligence in machines that understand, learn,
behave and think like persons.

Aim: “To identify the effect of Artificial Intelligence on business growth and innovation.
A case study of Continental consulting Limited. ”
Objectives:
 To identify the concept of Artificial Intelligence in growth and innovation of Continental
consulting Limited.
 To evaluate the impact of Artificial Intelligence on profitability and productivity of
Continental consulting Limited. To ascertain the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and growth of company.

P2 Project management plan that covers different aspects including cost, time, scope, risk,

Project management plan is a written document which talks about aspects through which
project can be implemented in effective and efficient manner. This works as path way to achieve
targets on time and within specified budget. There are different activities associated with
performing project activities. Hence, it is essential to deliver approaches for effective
implementation of project for project management plan is used to deliver knowledge to
subordinates (Garnham, 2017). In case of Continental Consulting Limited, this is effective as it
helps to deliver knowledge through which they can implement artificial intelligence in effective
manner.
In order to develop project management plan in the organisation, manager need to apply
different sources. There is requirement of various financial and non- financial resources such as
time which helps to get positive result out of it. There are some risk associated with
implementation of cloud technology. It is essential that managers of Continental Consulting
Limited must consider cost, scope, quality, time etc. in project management plan.
Scope- Scope means to analyse growth prospects with the help of artificial intelligence of
Continental Consulting Limited. It is important for managers to perform analysed scope of
artificial intelligence in respect to business operations which help to get ease in working style.
With the help of artificial intelligence, Continental Consulting Limited will be able to deal with
comparatively more clients as compared. This can help in provide good quality services with less
possibilities of defects (Intelligence, 2016). Hence, there is positive impact of artificial
intelligence on growth and development of Continental Consulting Limited.
Cost- Cost is essential component to be considered while implementing artificial
intelligence. Managers of Continental Consulting Limited has to analyse how much funds is
required and sources to raise such funds. Artificial intelligence is part of digitalisation and
frequent changes are taking place in digitation, hence this method can be costly because
Continental Consulting Limited has to upgrade their working style. Apart from this, there is
requirement of promotion, advertisement, maintenance and training expenses also. These

Limited deals in consultancy sector so their is difference in their problems. Hence, with
implementation of artificial intelligence, waiting time for client gets reduced and they get prompt
and frequent solutions of their problem (Kaplan, 2015). This helps to improve image of
Continental Consulting Limited in industry. Artificial intelligence helps to take feedback from
client so improvement must be done accordingly.
Time- Time required to implement artificial intelligence is approx 109 days or 16 weeks.
This is because artificial intelligence must be conveyed in different departments so it can be used
properly. Continental Consulting Limited can give reliable services with efforts of employees so
motivation from managers is required.
Communication: It is important and essential components which is required by the
project manager in order to communicate all information to staff members. It is significant for
the organisation to share different information, benefits, new objectives and many other useful
knowledge about new project and plan with its workers (Moro, Cortez and Rita, 2015). There are
different ways through which company can maintain their communication among employees,

consumer and public such as a social collaboration platform, providing employees regular
feedback, follow video conferencing etc. All, these are most appropriate and essential way of
communication to interact all information related to their projects to customers, employees and
so on.
Risk: It is one of the most essential elements of a project management plan that determine
the approach for risk management in specific project. In addition, it is refer as a safety net of all
project and consists certain process (Ng, 2016). Identifying key risks, performing a qualitative
risk analysis, running a quantitative risk analysis and develop a risk response plan.
P3 Gantt chart and Work breakdown structure
Work breakdown structure: It is refer to an effective chart in which work is divided in
the hierarchical way so that the project manger can easily monitor all task. With help of this
structure, management team of the Continental Consulting Limited is able to determine each and
every information of the project which can assist the group member to accomplish the task in an
effective and efficient manner. This is mainly the outline chart which support the project team to
recognize the further classification in the project (Ongsakul and Dieu, 2016). There are different
advantages of WBS as this assist the company effectively in assigning the budget to the project
and via this, the accurate budget or fund can be determined by the company. It also assist in
evaluating the risks of difficulties which is related with the project (Work Breakdown Structure,
2018).

Gantt Chart: A Gantt chart is identify as a horizontal bar chart introduced as a
production control technique by Henry L. Gantt in 1917. Gantt chart refer as a graphical
description of a project schedule and bar chart that define the start and finish times of several
components of a project like milestones, resources, dependencies and tasks (Osoba and Welser,
2017). This framework is useful and essential in designing a project and determining the tasks
sequences that need completion. It is essential for the company because it represent the timeline
of project, which can cover task duration, sequences, and the finish and start dates for each
activity of project.

P4 Carrying of small scale research via application of quantitative and qualitative techniques
Quantitative research:- It refers to the collection and analysis of data obtained from
various sources using tools such as statistical, mathematical and computational for deriving the
result. This research is mainly conduct to derive the numerical data for identifying the issues and
generalising the result from sample of group of people (Pannu, 2015). Quantitative data is
collected using questionnaire, polls and surveys.
Qualitative research:- It refers to the scientific procedure of collecting information and
non-numerical data by observing people. It is used to gain an accurate understanding about
underlying reasons, motivations and opinions. Main aim of qualitative research is to uncover the
trend prevailing in opinion or thought. Qualitative research use semi-structured or unstructured
methods to collect data such as interviews, group discussion, brain storming etc. Though, it is
time consuming and expensive process but the data collected using qualitative methods are more
reliable and authentic.
Continental Consulting Limited is conducting qualitative research to identify the effect of
digital technology i.e. artificial intelligence and its impact over different business related
operations. Qualitative method is used to conduct this research which helps to know about digital
technology in- depth and this is relevant for knowing about subject matter. Questionnaire is used
as tool of qualitative method.
For collecting accurate information, there are mainly two types of data collection such as
primary and secondary (Rivera-Ruiz and Ferrer-Moreno, 2015).

Primary Research: Primary information introduce to the first hand data collected by the
investigator himself. In this, questionnaire will be prepared by investigator that will assist in
gaining appropriate and proper data from the customers.
Secondary Research: On the other hand, secondary data means information gathered by
someone else earlier. Under this information, publication research, journals, books, magazines
will be used by researcher to collect data about the Artificial intelligence which is required to be
implemented by the Continental consulting Limited.
In this topic, researcher select primary source as a part of qualitative method. In this,

P5 Analysis research and data using appropriate tools and techniques
There are different tools and techniques which are required by the researcher in order to
complete research activities in an appropriate and effective way. Some techniques are
determined as under:

Research design: It is important and essential section of the research because each
activities of research depend on them. There are mainly three types of research design such as
exploratory, descriptive, and experimental research (Siau, 2017). All these types are significant
but in this research topic, descriptive design is more suitable and valuable because it provide
valid conclusion and help in collecting of accurate information from the respondents.
Research philosophy: This section of research is divided into two parts including
interpretivism and positivism. In this report, interpretivism philosophy will be applied because it
will assist in analysing the information effectively. On the other hand, positivism philosophy is
not suitable and valuable for executing research because it tend to be artificial and flexible.
Data analysis: It is another important part of the research which is done with the
application of thematic analysis (Susskind, 2017). In this, investigator play vital role in
developing different themes which is essential for them to carry out research in effective manner.
There is trend analysis while conducting this research. With the us of such techniques,
this is relevant to known tahtnh there is trend in sales and profits of organisation. This is relevant
for attaining good image in industry.

more essential and important part of digital technology. It is used by the company for
maintaining their cost and time. Such technology is beneficial for the growth and innovation of
Continental consulting Limited. This statement is agreed by more than half of the population. On
the other hand, in order to implement artificial intelligence at workplace, company will face
different issue such as cost, knowledgeable workforce, lack of resources and many other (Wilson
and Benson, 2016). All these are main drawbacks that effect on business growth and innovation
in a direct manner. In order to overcome such issue, company should organise training and
development program, identify best source of fund and so on. These are essential and beneficial

for the company to enhance knowledge and skills of their workers and arrange sufficient amount
of money. Therefore, it can help an organisation to maximise their productivity and profitability.
It will also assist them in its future growth and success at large scale. Company should follow all
recommendation because it beneficial for them to overcoming drawbacks related to Artificial
intelligence.
It is recommended that in order to implement artificial intelligence, there is requirement
of expertise knowledge and as per change in technology changes must be accepted. Hence in this
case, there is requirement of proper planning of funds. Growth of organisation is possible of
Continental Consulting Limited with employee's engagement. It is concluded that with the help
of technology up-gradation it is easy to compete with external firms.

P7) Reflect on the value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives and own learning
and performance
From the above I came to understand that the Artificial intelligence is not only essential
for the customers but it is also beneficial for the company. The digital technology is not only
significant and helps in accomplishing the competitive benefits but also essential in maximising
the customer base. Along with, practical knowledge and theoretical concepts about the Artificial
intelligence technology, I also came to understand that how one to study the information from
the books, journals and questionnaire. There are different methods to identify the appropriate
information and data from the respondents but I choose only questionnaire because it give
accurate and relevant information about the topic and consume less time. The time allotted for
executing research activities was not sufficient but still I was able to easily complete the activity
on that time duration. Further, at the period of analysis the information, I gained some
knowledge regarding the software and new techniques which is followed while evaluating the
content. With the support of thematic analysis and graph, I was capable to finish the task or
activity in an effective manner. It was a development factor for me because it helped in
accomplishing the goals and objectives within the time duration.
I am able to attain goals and objectives of research because my team was hard working
and dedicated. I am able to complete project activities on time and I am able to enhance my
knowledge related to artificial intelligence. Some employees are not interested in reverting of

questionnaire in this case we have to follow back them which affects my project completion
time.
CONCLUSION
From the above given information it can be articulated that Artificial intelligence is
beneficial for the company for achieving competitive advantages easily. It will not only support
in maximising customer base but will also be useful in developing growth and innovation by
giving benefits to the customers. On the other hand, through the questionnaire and survey of
respondents, investigator easily collect accurate and relevant information about the impact of
Artificial Intelligence. So on this basis, business entity can plan and conduct the training and
development program in the company to maintain the employees turnover.
