INTRODUCTION
A systematic evaluation is that aspect which is required in order to achieve the objectives of the
business. This evaluation is done by managing a successful business project. Project management is
referred to as the planning, monitoring and controlling the aspects of business so that objectives of the
project can be attained within the allotted time, cost, quality and performance. Talent management can
be referred to as the process which involves retaining the existing employees and attracting the
potential employees in the company (Bigorra Puente, 2017). It is done by focusing on their skills and
knowledge and continuously motivating them to improve their existing or already acquired skills and
knowledge so that they can enhance their productivity. The practice of talent management is done by
the human resource department so that it can create such workforce who an be motivated to stay in the
organization for the longer time. The organization chosen for this report is Sainsbury, a supermarket
chain dealing in retail industry. This report shall cover the aims and objectives of the talent
management research, project management plan and Gantt chart and work breakdown structure.
Further it will include the primary and secondary research, interpretation of primary source and
recommendations for further improvement. At last, a reflective report is also illustrated.
TASK 1
P1 Project aims and objectives
Talent management can be referred to as the process which involves retaining and attracting the
high quality employees so that they can efficiently contribute to organizational goals and objectives.
This is a constant process which involves development of skill and knowledge and continuously
encouraging and motivating the workforce so that they can make improvement in their performance
and the talent can be secured into the organization for the longer time period (Galli, 2018). The strategy
of talent management is a kind of plan which is undertaken by the organizations so that it can manage
its high quality and skilled staff for the success of the company. Every company which is small or big
requires this strategy in order to battle the competition by retaining and attracting the employees. As a
Junior HR consultant, a researcher is being hired in the company Sainsbury so that it can identify the
problems which is being faced by the company relating to talent management and the importance of
this practice can be identified (Van Rijn, 2016). The primary objective of this research is to identify the
issues which the organization is facing and bring a comprehensive plan which can solve this issue and
help company retain its skilled and high quality staff. Moreover, another intention behind this research

is to examine the benefits and importance of talent management. For the execution of this research the
research aims and objectives is illustrated below-
Research Aim:
The main aim of this research is to examine the importance of talent management strategies
which can help in attracting and retaining the employees into the organization.
Research Objective:
To determine the importance of the talent management strategy into the company
Sainsbury.
To examine the benefit of the talent management within the company.
To determine the issues relating to talent management which is currently being faced by
Sainsbury.
Research Questions:
What is the importance of talent management strategy in the company Sainsbury ?
What are the benefits associated with the talent management within the organisation ?
What issues the company Sainsbury is currently facing in terms of talent management ?
P2 Project Management Plan
A project management plan is a formal document which clearly states how a project must be
carried on. It outlines the scope, goal, deliverable, timeline and budget of a project so that a clear rack
of the project can be kept (Li and Lu, 2017). The main aim of project management plan is to
communicate the details relating to the project and to describe the process with the help of which a
project must be undertaken. In context to this research, the components of the project management plan
is discussed below-
Cost- It is a general sum which shall be utilized for carrying on the project by the researcher.
This cost is fundamentally considered by the researcher (Abramova, Pires and Bernardino, 2016). This
cost shall work as the large budget for the researcher with the help of which the whole process of
research shall be carried out. For completing this research project, the researcher shall require the cost
of 2000 Pounds.

Scope- In context to this research project, the scope of it is extensive as it will help the
organization in managing ts staff effectively and retain the talent into the organization. The
management of talent shall also help the company to bring out their efficiency so that positive outcome
can be delivered by their input. Moreover, this research will also help in identifying the key issues of
the talent management which is being faced by the company Sainsbury.
Quality- For the successfully completion of this research project, the researcher shall gather the
information and the data from the viable source and authentic one so that reliable information can be
gathered and the objective of the research can be achieved successfully. The researcher shall use the
questionnaire as primary tool of research and take use of books and journals as the secondary tool of
research. Another purpose of quality is to meet objectives of the research project on time which is fixed
for completing the project and also the research must be done as per the allotted budget. This shall
ensure that the research met the quality requirements.
Time- For completing this research project successfully, the researcher shall need the time 2.5
months beginning from 1st October, 2020 to 20th December 2020 within which it will gather the
information and after analyzing the said data and information, come up with the solutions for the
problem.
Communication- It is an important component which involves communicating the information,
opinion, experience and information from one person to another. Communication works to build a
coordination among the employees of the organization so that objectives of the research can be
achieved. The research shall make use of the emails, telephone, face to face conversation in order to
collect information so that real information can be gathered. The communication shall be done with the
employees of Sainsbury in order to find the issues faced by them and what is the importance of Talent
management in their organization and what according to them are the benefits which employees and the
company can get after implementing effective talent management strategy.
Resources- For the achievement of the research aims and objectives, the researcher shall be
required human resource, employees, assets and other resources. For completing the research project, it
is important that sufficient resources are available to the researcher.
Risk- A research involves many risk likewise the business involves (Dodds and Hess, 2020).
The researcher shall have the risk of securing the personal information of the respondents, research
must be completed within the time frame and many other. Another risk which involves in this research

project is to complete the risk as per the allotted budget which is the most challenging one.
P3 Work breakdown structure and a Gantt Chart
Work breakdown structure
It is the decomposition of the work which is in the form of hierarchy. It is executed so tat the
objectives of the project can be achieved by the project team. It helps in planning, controlling,
monitoring and reporting the project. Under Work break down structure, the project is divided into
small components so that project aims can be achieved in a hierarchical manner and the project is
completed in an effective and efficient manner (Nam and et. al., 2016). The work is organized in such a
manner that it is made managerial. For the successful completion of this project, the researcher shall be
utilization of this structure so that its work can be made easy and research aims and issues are easily
identified. The work breakdown structure for this research project is given below-
Gantt chart
it is a useful tool which makes the graphical representation of the activities which is to be
performed against the time. This chart represents the project into a visual presentation where a task is
broken and then displayed against the time on a chart so that it can become easy for understanding and
then interpreting it. This tool shows the activities of the project against the time which is to be
completed within that time frame (Robles, 2018). The Gantt chart helps in scheduling and planning the
project so that project progress is updated and also in case additional resources are required, it can be
arranged easily. In context to this research project, the Gantt chart is given below-
