Title: Talent Management
INTRODUCTION
In an organization, talent management is referring to the constant procedure that includes
attracting as well as retaining high quality employees. In this, the main focus of HR manager is
to develop employee’s skills, provide continuous motivation in order to improve their overall
performance at workplace. The main purpose of talent management is to develop a motivated
workforce who will give their best efforts for attaining long term benefits (Mensah, 2015). This
will directly contribute in attaining positive and competitive advantage from its competitors. In
addition to this, manager also use various strategies and ways to manage their talent that may
assist them in improving overall performance of company at market place. Current report is
based on Holiday Inn, is a famous American brand of hotel that operate their business in over the
world with the aim of establishing its competitive image (Anlesinya, and Amponsah-Tawiah,
2020). The main focus of this company is to manage their workforce by placing them at right
place so that they can easily attained their set goals and objectives in an appropriate manner.

Research aim
To investigate the strategies of talent management, do the best companies, use to attract
and retain employees at workplace. A study on Holiday Inn.

manage and attract their top talent at workplace.

Rationale of research
The primary purpose of undertaking current research is to explore the role of talent
management in retaining productive workforce. This study assists in providing detailed and
accurate information that enable researcher in taking valid decision. Along with this, it is also
beneficial for personal and professional context (Mangusho, Murei and Nelima, 2015). By
undertaking current investigation, researcher can improve their skills and knowledge towards
selected topic and area as well. With the assistance of this, organization also improve their
knowledge about talent management and how it may assist in retaining their staff members.
Overview of chosen organisation
The organisation that is selected fir current project is Holiday Inn which is an American
brand of hotels, and a subsidiary of InterContinental Hotels Group which. The Holiday Inn was
Founded as a U.S. motel chain headquarter of which is located at Denham, Buckinghamshire and
soon it has grown to be one of the world's largest hotel chains, with 1,173 active hotels and over
214,000 rentable rooms across various parts of the world (Baldwin and di Mauro, 2020).
Literature review
Concept of talent management in organizational context
According to Rabbi and et. Al., (2015), Talent management is considered as an important
concept within the company as it focuses on organizing, strategic process of getting right talent
on-board and at the same time also assist them to grow their optimal capabilities by keeping all
the objectives in their mind as well. Mainly, it is a procedure of identifying talent gap, vacant
position to select a right candidate at working area. Thus, it is significant for HR manager to
provide proper training, developing their necessary skills, keep them engage and also motivate
them to attain all the long term goals and objectives in an allotted period of time. Proper
management of talent includes different aspects such as planning, attracting, selecting,
developing, retaining and transitioning which needs to be implement by manager at the time of
managing their talent. With the help of this, company can easily attain their targets in an
appropriate time frame (Crane and Hartwell, 2019).

According to Singh and Sharma, (2015), managing talent is not always easy as various
issues can come up that put negative impact over the organizational performance. Thus, it is
significant for business to focus on hiring as well as developing their talent at working area so
that all the set goals and objectives can easily attained. In relation to this, there are some major
issues that company is facing in managing their talent at working area:
Poor hiring strategies: Basically, management of talent starts with filling a vacant place
along with higher and quality performer. This is possible with strong staffing management plan
as it provides assistance in hiring a right candidate for specified job role. With an ineffective
hiring strategy, organization might have trouble in sourcing top talent.
Ineffective leadership: Proper and strong leadership is one of the major basis of talent
management because leader is responsible for developing as well as retaining employees by
providing them proper guidance at working area. Without strong leader, talent is not proper
managed within the company.
Employee turnover: Improper talent management create issues and complexities among
team members because proper talent management focuses on developing workers from start to
finish. By this worker feel valued and satisfied with specified job. If employees are properly
managed that company face the issue of high employee turnover (Golubovskaya, Solnet and
Robinson, 2019).
Different strategies Holiday Inn can use to manage their top talent at workplace
As per view point of Vaiman and Collings, (2015), it is important for business organization
to manage their top talent by providing them proper guidance and support. In this, company also
use appropriate strategies that help in retaining top talent at workplace for longer period of time.
As all the effective strategies can be understood by following points:
Hire only top employees: It is crucial for business organisation to recruit best and talented
employees who meet all the qualities required at working area. One of the main advantage of
using this strategy is to reach higher performance faster that contributes improving
organizational performance.
Provide continuous training and development: In order to manage and motivate their
talent providing proper training and development activities is crucial because it assist in
developing skills and knowledge of workers. By this worker can easily perform their task and
also improve their productiveness.

Project Management Plan is a formal, approved document that defines how a particular
project is to be executed, monitored and controlled. It includes baselines, subsidiary management
plans and other planning documents which defines the approach project team needs to take to
deliver the intended scope of the project (Project Management Plan: Definition, Purpose &
Examples, 2019). It also provides appropriate information to the stakeholders regarding
understanding and importance of the task. A project management plan covers following aspects:
Cost Cost is a vital component of project management so that the desired objectives
of the project can be achieved within a predetermined budget and stipulated
time. The cost for the research activities such as sampling, data collection etc.
by the researcher will be £15,000 whereas the total cost that will be borne by
the company for research and development activities will be £48,000.

Scope The scope of the examination for the organization is that it will empower it to

investigator to practice his insight and abilities such that advantages both the
