this, company can trade products and services outside geographical boundaries market without
any type of policies and regulation (Larsson, Eriksson and Pesämaa, 2018). In this report chosen

P2 Project management plan which cover aspects of cost, scope, time, quality, risk,
communication and resources
This can be refer as plan is a document which utilise for explaining each and every phase
of project (Knickel and et.al., 2016). This may involve several components such as initiating,
planning, executing, monitoring, controlling as well as closing. Motive of designing plan for
project management is to determine outcome of the project, and how successful result can be
gained, who have to be involved in project and how project will be measured as well as
communicate. Most important is that before framing project management plan it is important to
know the goals and objectives have to be accomplish.
Cost – It is related to the amount which is important for company for their business
operations. Thus, in relation of research it has been determined by the researcher that
approximately amount required for conducting research is 18K. In addition to this, it is not
possible to analyse the entire cost of globalisation but business firm will spend minimum £100
million for carry out their objectives behind globalisation process (Invernizzi, Locatelli and
Brookes, 2017).
Time – It is essential aspect of respective planning that help in identifying that, there are
several activities and how much time is required for finishing them. For conducting this research
there is requirement of 2 months approximately so that outcomes will be gained. Moreover, their
will be requirement of minimum 1 year within the procedure of globalisation.
Scope - It is also important element of needed for planning of project which will awake
an business firm about their upcoming carrying on. In relation of the respective research, selected
company i.e., British Telecom can easily operate their organisational operations in efficacious
way because after conducting research several factors related to the same will be identified. This
factor of project management plan will assist company in accomplishing their predetermined
goals and objectives. Scope of Respective research project is limited while at first spread out
business within European area.
Communication – It is the most important aspect and for successful organisation it is
important to have always two way communication (Yashkova And et.al., 2016). Thus, it is
essential for organisation to involve their staff members within communication related to the
decision making process. Because it will assist in motivating them and enhancing productivity of

company. In addition to this, it is essential for an investigator to convey with their entire team
members for making it effective as well as efficient. Best communication tool will be E-mails as
well as audio or video calls which will be use for communicating with staff members who are
involved within the globalisation procedure of British telecom.
Risk – This factor may prevent entire performance of company thus, it is important for
British Telecom to analyse as well as monitor risk in effective manner because it may effect
growth of company (Kerzner, 2019) (O'Connell, 2016). Leading hazard that will faced by
British Telecom at the time of globalisation extra expenses and customer preferences. As
company is not aware about the market situation and customer of another nation thus it is big
challenge to enlarge their business at worldwide level.
P3 Work breakdown structure and Gantt Chart for providing timeframes and stages for
completion
Document Page
Gantt Chart – It is project management tool introduced by Henry L Gantt in the year
1917 who is an American Engineer as well as social scientist. Gantt chart provide illustration of
through graph which assist in schedule the plans, coordination as well as for tracking specific
task within project. It is constructed with horizontal axis which represent total duration of overall
work which is breakdown within increments for instance days, months ans weeks (Bierwolf and
Frijns, 2017). Whereas, vertical axis shows the tasks which are related to the overall project. In
addition to this, horizontal bars of varying length shows sequences, timing as well as time span
for every activity. On the other hand, vertical axis of graph the time required to be send on
particular research. Basically Gantt chart utilise for project management and help organisation in
completing their task within required time duration.
Document Page
Work breakdown structure – This framework is related to the project deliverable
which assist business firm in managing teamwork within easy manageable parts. Work
breakdown structure help in dividing task within small chunks which can be understand by
project team (Antunes and Gonzalez, 2015). This is beneficial for organisation as it help in
managing work in effective manner as well as their will be no burden on individual for
accomplishing any activity in effective manner. Thus in simple term, WBS assist project
manager in effective managing of team work within manageable sections.
TASK 2
P4 Small scale research by implementing qualitative and quantitative research methods for
meeting project aims and objectives
Qualitative Research: Qualitative Research is a scientific form of observation which is
used to collect non-numerical data. This research helps in explaining the meaning, concepts,
characteristics and description of things (Harrison and Lock, 2017). It is primarily exploratory in
nature. Basically it is utilise for gaining knowledge related to the implicit reasons, opinion as
well as motivations. Respective research method is designed in such a way so that it provide
assistance in revealing the behaviour as well as conceptualization of the target audience who will
assist in gathering information related to specific topic. Qualitative research involves various
types of methods like: face to face interview, ethnographic research, focus groups, case study
research, maintaining records and most important is observation.
Quantitative Research: Quantitative Research is a systematic method of observation
through mathematical, statistical as well as computational method. Under this the researcher

clearly defines each of the research questions to which objective answers are sought. It is highly
exciting and informative, which is used to help explain all sorts of phenomena in precise form. It
usually represents large number of cases under which population samples are involved.
Statistical data is basically represented in tabular form and further the findings derived are
descriptive in nature. Quantitative Research involves: survey and correlation research, causal
relative research as well as experimental research.
Primary Research: Primary Research is conducted and collected by the investigator
himself for a specific purpose (Meidan and et.al., 2017). It usually involves direct interaction
with the customers in the target market. When primary research is conducted two basic types of
information is collected: Exploratory that is general and open-ended which mainly include long
interviews with small group or an individual. And the other one is Specific which is precise in
nature and is used to solve problems relating to exploratory research. Examples of primary
research are : Surveys ( online or mail), Interviews ( telephonic or face-to-face), Questionnaires,
and focus groups. There are several advantages and disadvantage of primary research
explanation are as follows :-
Advantages Disadvantage
Specific information will be gained
related to the topic.
Fresh data will be gathered which never
published before in any books, journal
or other source.
It is time consuming method because
much time is needed for conducting
survey and opinion polls.
It is expensive method because many
organisation have to hire specialist.
Secondary Research: Secondary Research is a kind of research that is collected,
gathered and organised by someone else for some other purpose. Present data is sum-up for
enhancing the entire effectualness of research. This basically is a less expensive method of data
collection and the investigator is not personally responsible for the quality of data. For small
business organisation that have limited budgets secondary research in very useful because the
data is easily available. Examples, secondary data are available on internet, libraries, in books
and journal, educational institutions and so on. Advantages and disadvantage of secondary
research are mention below :-
Document Page
Advantages Disadvantage
Secondary research make sense if using
existing data before commissioning
new research.
Provide market overview with data on
competitors.
It is not sure that secondary research
always provide sufficient detail for
answering all questions.
Most of secondary data is also available
to business competitors.
According to the upper mention methods, it has been analysed that in this investigator
will use qualitative research methodology for conducting research. For this purpose
questionnaire will be selected in order to gaining opinions of respondents (Torrecilla-Salinas
And et.al., 2015). With the random sampling method number of respondents are selected i.e., 30
and they will contribute in gaining proper outcomes for research purpose.
